Well, Shock isnt as hard to use as people claim, It's like the grenade launcher secondary, but massive splash and gigantic damage.

hell spunk ya missing one major major major MAJOR point. you have to aim AT THE F*CKING CORE. you don't aim for the explosion on the grenade launcher its just like that f*cking cheap W*ANK move EMP combo. shooot but you dont need to aim just press the trigger and BANG cheap ass kill. shock rifle you have to place the core where someones going, then whilst dodging enemy fire(hopefully not EMP combo otherwise ya dead even if they fly past you) you have to aim at the core to explode it, usually in my cause whilst elavator jumping over bouncing off walls. don't compare sh0ck to cheap ass sh*t EVA again!!!! lol

Yes, and your forgetting about the massive hitbox on the core. A day of practice and you can hit cores easily.

you can say thats the shock takes little skill, compare it to the bio, massive hit box, nade launcher, in most case spam wepon, flak = useless , stinger, just aim and shoot, big area in which the enemy gets hit in, and hugh range, sniper, jusat aim. so how can these weapons take more skill than the shock. the only wepons which take as much skill r the rip and rocket, although the rocket has big Splash dmg, if you use trippe rockets it takes lots of skill and timing, rip you can release when you want giving it a big advantage, although not dealing as much dgm or splash. so im my eyes shock is definately arguably the most skillfull wepon. for those who think the rocket and shock is easy to use. try playing against a great rocket player (Tug Soldi3r, Grav, Peace ect..) and try beating viper in a shock battle. i think im both good with rocket and shock but viper owns me with shock, tug owns me with rocks, and grav and peace own altogether. and when there together. no double team can beat them. end of.

I agree with sparda, shock is one of the most skillful weapons. people online just go turbo while using it, shoot in straight lines. try to shoot every single core to look good, when the core aint nowhere near the enemy....

I dont really think the ripjack dominates other explosive weapons, the only player who i have seen who dominates with it is Peace, i have never really seen another player who could make the ripjake compare to the rocket launcher.

It has lots of useful functions such as mines and the fast primary fire however no one uses it effectively to actually make it compare to rockets, if everyone could use it like peace then i would consider it to be one of the best explosive weapons however it requires to much skill for most players to use in comparison to the rockets.

The ripjack also requires a different playign style, it helps to not fight head on vs rockets, this means you have to play much slower and often cant help your team out (I know this from lots of 2 vs 2 experiance). it also slows you down as you cant move quickly with melee if you have to constantly hold onto a fully charged shot.

the main difference between the rip and the rocks that determine which is better is that rockets deal more dmg in 1 blow...meaning hes dead, cant run off and get health, unlike the rip.

It's not about power, it's about practical uses, the Ripjack can mine, and release when you want it too, and has a decent amount of damage.

The rocket launcher is severely limited, because it releases when it wants to, can't mine, and is predictbly rejectable. It makes up for this in one hit kills, but I dont think triple rocket one hit kills make up for it's limits.

It takes 2.5 seconds to charge up a triple rocket, were-as the Rip jack takes longer, but it can be pre-charged up, which at the end of the day is much more practical.

shock primary takes less life away so maybe it is harder but then maybe just shooting shock cores one after another is harder since the strike is not instantaneous. yess I think who ever gets kills with just shock cores is skilled. No you can always make good shots there is more to do/think when you shoot core but hit box is ginormous but as with any weapon difficult shots will be made timing/distance/shots under pressure. But yeah if you just shooting primary peopleare gonna be able to take more shots at you and primary fire is just not intimidating so ....

The hit boxes of both the ball and beam are fairly large, but I don't belive there is any "directive aiming". I think that what you are thinking about in the montages is just the lag. He already shot the ball, but it just didn't register it, so when it blows up he's not pointing at it anymore. I have noticed this while I have been going through my footage for the montage I am working on right now. You can also see the same thing with the Sniper in some of Augy's montage's (most easily seen in the Ripping it Up montage during Nascor's segment.)
