Need some help... Im a newb... :(

I just bought this game today... I am catching on quick... but I dont understand how to...
1. Stun people quickly... when I try shooting them with the pistol... I am holding L and when I let go... I always miss...
2. Can someone clearly explain how the heck to do the tricky things with guns... Such as shoot drunk rockets and all of those?
3. Can you do combo's in this game?
