Unreal 2 the Awakening was published by Atari. Epic Games hired Legend Entertainment, who made a name for themselves with the Unreal: Return to Na Pali expansion pack and the woefully underrated Wheel of Time game (based on the books by Robert Jordan)to develop it for the PC. Tantalus Int (acclaim) made the Xbox version.

Pariah was published by Groove games and developed by Digital Extremes. It only uses the Unreal Engine.

why do they advertise that it is from the makers of the unreal games if it isnt?

They collaborated with Epic in a good many of their games if I'm not mistaken.

Digital Extremes is responsible for developing the unreal games in the past. They had nothing to do with Unreal Championship 2 though.

digital extremes helped out with artwork and design for Unreal 1 and made a bonus pack for UT2003.

Before Unreal, Epic made pinball games and the PC's correspondence to Sonic, Jazz Jackrabbit.

Jazz Jackrabbit was really neat. great fun.
Too bad it did'nt get the attention it deserved.
Maybe one day Cliffy B will create a remake of it with the unreal engine 3.0 :D

Dont think he will, but it'd be neat if he did.

Isn't Jazz Jackrabbit sprite-based? Anyways, it definetly was a cool game.

Yesh, it's sprite-based but I dunno if it's supposed to be called sprite-based really. It's 2D anyways :)

Actually, Epic and DE collaborated on Unreal and Unreal Tournament. DE took the lead on UT2003 and Unreal Championship, then Epic helped finish up UT2003. Digital Extremes added a number of models and maps for UT2004.
