it really is true im not very good at console shooters but my clan held a number-one rank in Oregon for two weeks srtaight i average at least 39 kills in UT2004 TDM. Then i went over to one of my friends house we played the Demo on xbox live and i only got 13 kills.my reaction was almos instantly W.T.F is it just cuz the gameplay is so different or wat? got killing spree and multi killz though

Maybe in H2. But not UC2. UC2 is made for the controller.

a keyboard would ruin UC2 if they allowed such a thing.

I guess nobody here has heard of a SmartJoy Frag...it allows you to hook a keyboard and mouse up to your XBox in place of a controller. Google it, I think LikSang has some in stock. I was originally planning on getting one, since I had been playing FPS's on PC's for years until I got my XBox, but now that I'm used to a controller, why bother?

well, Keyboard/Mouse conbination owns everything, but sorry, you gotta get an adapter for that.

^nope.

you think you can win with a joystick of the Xbox against a keyboard? no, its impossible keyboard/mouse combination gives you more mobility and much much more precision.

legacy-Shadowz
04-09-2005, 11:55 AM
yes,and i know its not impossible by playing against people with them. and your wrong about the mobility,it makes them not have as much but better precision. makes it harder to do jumps ect.

legacy-DoMiNaToR

wrong, and wrong. harder to make jumps for you, because for me its very easy.

Ok if you use the keyboard i will love to see a video of you freeze someone, take out melee, and the do a CDG. Do you understand how much that is.

legacy-DoMiNaToR

yes, you'll love to see me doing that.

legacy-iReProphecy
04-10-2005, 12:09 PM
No, actually i wouldnt. I guess if you set up your keyboard you might be able to pull it off. But it quite a waste of time. No one will respect anyone if they use a keyboard tho. You might "own", but your not playing the way it was sopposed to be.

''he doesnt even have the demo and hes talking crap... ''

nope but a friend of mine does, and also has bought Halo 2.

and by the way, i was just joking.

I don't need a keyboard to get Godlike against those mouse users.

Heck, just give me a forward, turn left/right, jump, and a fire button and I can be just as effective. :P

i dont think so, the xbox controller sux to aim compared to a mouse. im just talking about the reallity.

I have a JoyFrag, and I'm still undecided about whether it gives you an edge or not. I have no problems using the controller, and I think that the mobility is a slight issue, but I know with Halo the JoyFrag is still a little jumpy no matter how you set your deadzone, or else I have too accurate of a mouse ;). I can't really see how chimney jumping and zigzag jumping might be easier on the KB, since it's a left, right, left, right, button press versus moving a stick left right left right. But I don't see how that couldn't be taxing on the fingers after awhile. And before you ask, I haven't tried the demo on my SJF yet, I use a computer too much at work, and the carpel tunnel just ends up killing me.

When you have a keyboard/mouse, you definitely have better accuracy. But, UC2 has waaay more than just shooting, so good luck. You will need a button for shoot, alt fire, jump, adren menu, each adren move(6 of them), first/third person switcher, look at stats, start,

So imagine, we are battling, and it is even, you have a mouse/keyboard and I have a controller. If you were about to kill me, I could quickly press X+A and speed out of there. Keyboard would need to press a button then another button WHILE STILL jumping. You only got 5 fingers.

UC2's melee + keyboard/mouse = crap

legacy-BoriuaXBL
04-18-2005, 12:31 PM
Yeah and UC2 was still made for the XB controller anyway so it would completely screw up the controls.

Honestly I don't think half of you guys know what your talking about, or prolly you do and just don't want other people to use keyboard and mice. Keyboard and mice does make aiming ALOT easier. A guy earlier posted that in Halo2 the game was hard to aim no matter what the deadzone was, and it was because of something they did with the game, but with UC2 it works perfectly like any game would on your PC. Most games blew with keyboard and mice hence the reason I never used it till now.

You guys talk trash about how melee would be harder with a mouse and keyboard? How? What's so hard about left click swing? I can melee better than most people I played with. Now CDG's? What's so hard about that, I know what my keys are for which button since you can assign them yourself....and I would understand that if you didn't have the keys nailed down and the CDG's were perfectly random, but they do have the secret ones which are always the same. Plus...you can assign numerous keys to the same button, and if I wanted to I could as easily assign the CDG to the keys 1,2,3,4,5,6 in that sequence. Now lets see who does it faster...

Now I bet your thinking...THAT'S NOT FAIR blah blah blah. In game I've heard from many people saying they have those 3rd party controllers that let you make macros. They have one button CDG's. Hence, the whole "better than most people I played".

There's noway to standardize the controller thing unless everyone used the exact samething, so you can't really say either has an advantage tho. One of my friends just uses the controller, and he owns me all the time.

I't doesn't matter if you have a keyboard or not. And people shouldn't be mad either. It's just like using a different official brand of the xbox controller. Say your using the S type controller and using the huge one, your still going to complain? You shouldn't cuz its still fair cuz you still have to play with the ingame rules. Some peeps I know use the Nosotromo pad I still beat them with a keyboard and mouse big deal. Everyone has there preferences.

To the orignal poster:
I take it you don't play on the Fractionary and Factory servers. The ones with all the 1337 people. Clan LOB,SIN, YO, AIM, you know the uber awesome people.

SkateXer99

What do you mean "left click melee attack"? There's 3 different melee attacks, reflecting, etc etc, and that requires more than just a click of a mouse. Mouses are crappy for melee games.
