The only fault I see so far is in the xbox live menu. When looking at your friendlist it refreshes evertime something new happens which is extreamly annoying if you trying to send out a friend invite.
example: tring to scroll down to a friends name 5 people down..
someone new signes on and brings me to the top of my friends list again.
besides that GREATGAME guys.. better then halo2!! :) (just dont let punks find a way to cheat)

Yeah this is not the first game i've encountered this with. Fable is another and a few other live enabled games.

It is really annoying. It seems as though they are using the same live set up they did for the first UC. Please make it more stable before launch.

I would have to agree that the Halo 2 system is pre-historic.
The question I have to ask is why the heck don't all these XBlive games simply look at the best of the server browsers from PC games to understand some basic concepts about playing games online...Online Players want to see...
1. Servers available to play on.
2. What game type the server is running
3. How many people are in the server.
4. Is the server running a non-standard game type (the "pure" option in UC2 is very nice...thx Epic)
5. How well do you personally "ping" to that server/how good is your connection to that server.
6. The ability to sort the server lists you see by all the categories...maps/number of players/connection viability/gametype
whoever came up with the Halo 2 system was extremely short-sighted...it sucks and I think has a huge impact on stunting any community the game has going for it.
The main thing the UC2 browser doesn't have (that I can see) is the "ping" or connection viability, which is a bummer. Ultimately, I'd like to see some more complex filtering as well...not necessarily for every combination of gametyps and mutes, but definitly a "No Instagib" and "Instagib Only" filter (not a factor in the demo, admittedly).

oh my god is the friends list really as horrible as on uc1? and no way to find out how the connection to a server is? that doesnt sound good. but its still a demo so there is still hope for the final.

yea what pencap said.i don't know if you guys noticed, but UC2 sorts the servers according to connection speed not how many players are playing on a server. of course it would naturally make the servers with one person top of the list, but i managed to see a server with 2 people on the top of the list and the connection was great when i joined.

So long as I can get in a game I'm happy... the friends list refresher is "irritating" at best but since I have a full friends list, well any who; The main thing that irritates me is are two things (one = two, say wah?) well anyway, these two things are NAT swapping (Halo 2 problem) and joining games(Mainly Day One and FASA Studios games  ). This problem is something of a real pain in MechAssault 1 and 2, where it takes me hours just to join a damn Conquest match only to be booted for being the last guy in. And in Halo 2 I am forced to reset my modem's NAT in Command Prompt on my PC once a week so I can join my friend’s parties in Halo 2.
I hope we don't get these problems here... but luckily functionality and Xbox LIVE functions are controlled offsite (not on your local Xbox) so such problems can be fixed... to my knowledge anyway.

I've never had the nat problems, but as a consumer of mechassault 2, I fully agree with the ridiculous times it takes to play conquest, or any other online mode for that matter. I have head they are planning on fixing many of the problems, as evidenced on the main page, however.
The friends list thing is close to a deal breaker for me. For the demo, it didn't really matter, as most of my friends were playing halo, but for the full version, yeah. I'll be pissed if it stays that way. Friends list is one of the things that makes live so great, and as stated in one of my previous posts, Epic doesn't seem to be making the most of the hardware they have. I sincerely hope this changes soon, because small problems like this are what kept MA 2 from being the great live game it is, and I sincerely don't want that to happen here.

The Bug: While viewing the friend's list, whenever the presence information for any of your friends is updated (i.e. they sign-in, start hosting a match, etc.), the first item of the list becomes the selected item, regardless of which item was previously selected.
The Question: Will this bug be fixed in the full version of the game?
The Official Answer: Not sure if this bug will always be there, but it will probably still exist when the full version of UC2 is initially released. This is a bug with Xbox live (in a way), and because of this, the only action we can take to fix the problem is bug Microsoft [which we do constantly :)]
WTF!!OMG!!11SUXX0RZ!!!11: Yeah, it's annoying. I wish we could fix this, and I hope that it is fixed very soon. The Xbox provides a built-in friend's list feature. Games can either use the built-in version, or write their own from scratch. Any game that uses the built-in version will have this bug. That's why this happens in some games and not in others. The upside is that when/if Microsoft does fix this, it will automatically be fixed for every game that currently has this bug.
Maybe not the answer you wanted to hear - but I felt I should clear up a few things:
A) we're aware of the issue
B) we think it sucks too
C) we're doing everything we can to get it fixed
D) we love hearing your feedback - keep it up!

They will fix the friends list thingy, so once the game comes out you wont have to worry about that.

i agree with scuzzbuster about the instagib/no instagib option in optimatch, since a game with instagib on and a game with instagib off are VERY different games.

Midway didn't make it, they produced it.
Epic is awesome. I love this game and have yet to run into a problem.
*I did play the demo and the retail version runs just as smooth if not smoother.

I don't think that the menus are glitchy at all.
