Hello
I hope I'm not rufffling any feathers here but I'm wondering how Digital Extremes and the game Pariah are related to Epic and Unreal? While I'm fan of the Unreal series I stopped at Unreal Tournament since our pc wasn't up to the task of the others. I've noticed on some of the Pariah previews they mention, "from the ones who brought you Unreal comes Pariah". Of course anyone that has anything tied to Unreal I'll take notice and give it a look. Thanks again and best of luck to all involved with "Unreal".

Digital Extremes made UT2003 and UC1, arguably the most lackluster of the series.

Yea very true but they are still connected to EPIC in a sense that they too, worked on UC/UT games. But yea they're making Pariah which is looking pretty good. If EPIC came out with a Map Editor that would be a dream that i never thought that would come true. Think of having 80 plus maps.

-RTNP made by Legend Entertainment mainly
and I wonder why there is a DE Logo in the original UT (from 99) intro ??????????
Just an info for those who only mentioned they worked on UC/UT2003 and Unreal 1

of course Epic has always made all games but, with help of other companies, i know RTNP is made by legend mainly, also DE participated here.

I was confused about the quote "from the creators of the unreal series" at the beginning of the Pariah trailer, but when i looked further into it, and even asked a DE developer at the pariah forums, the developer said that James Schmalz, the guy in charge of DE/founder of DE thought of the concept of Unreal and than DE and Epic than worked together to make most the unreal games up until around 2002 or 2003.UT2004 when DE decided to go a different direction and make Dark Sector and Pariah.
Epic now owns the rights to the Unreal series and other than a few things in UT2004 that DE made, Epic developed/made UT2004.
In reply to Holy Avenger
don't make stuff up, don't just take (arguably) the worst Unreal games and say they were the only games DE developed and were developed mostly by DE, because that is far from the truth. DE worked on many of the Unreal games prior to UT2003/UC1, and both DE and Epic were responsible for the aforementioned games.

Dude, be more polite. I didn't make it up, this is what I've read and heard all over the internet and I'm getting tired of people like you being in the general section. If I was mistaken it wasn't an earth shattering mistake, so try to be a bit more polite. (Yes I know I'm not being particularly polite but it was a bad day and I'm getting tired of posts like that when I try to answer someone's question.)

Holy Avenger, I know USATitan well from the Pariah forums and he's a nice guy... So I'm sure he didn't mean to offend you in any way :).
Fuegerstef... DE is mentioned in the UT intro because they co-developed the game with Epic.

I have to say that the maturity level on these boards is a very nice change of pace.
