Gears of War (aka the 'Next Big Thing')

This unannounced title is Epic's first Unreal Engine 3 game. Here's what we know about it so far.
It'll probably be called Gears of War (story).
It won't be an Unreal game. Epic are starting up a brand new franchise.
It'll be published by Microsoft, and will probably be an Xbox2-exclusive title (story).
It's "a third-person action game where you will be able to ride around on beastly creatures and kill things" (source)
It's likely that the characters and locations seen on the Unreal Engine 3 tech page will appear in Gears of War.
CliffyB has hinted at co-op elements in the game (source).
It's rumored to be an Xbox2 launch title, so we'll probably see it in action at E3, where the console is expected to appear publicly for the first time.

Why will it not be published by Midway?

"Why will it not be published by Midway?"

Because Midway only made a deal to publish UC2 and two future 'Unreal Universe'* titles.

*I'm pretty sure they didn't specify it as 2 future UT titles but it might have been that.

Midway have liscensed the Unreal Engine for their future games though, which is interesting :D
