I used a cd cleaner on my XBOX once and it stop reading DVD's. Took two weeks to get it back from Microsoft. Only buy one that is made for the XBOX.

Compressed gas cleaners get a good amount of crap outa the system, the x box is nothin more than a nerfed computer, clean it like you would a computer.

if i were u call up: 1-800-myxbox if your xbox is under warrenty tell them it is breaking and if the could fix it for u. I told them it wouldnt read anything and just send it to them i had to pay ony 15$ bucks to send it to them and i got a NEW xbox

I guess I will not be cleaning my Xbox. Oh well, it doesn't even need a cleaning. I have only had it for about two years.

You can, just make sure to get one that is made for it. A cheap Wal-Mart cleaner is what killed my DVD-ROM. Good thing Microsoft was nice enough to pay for shipping both ways and to fix it for free.

Don't us those, I did it a few times, but everytime the problem seemd to get worse, the best way is to screw open the case and clean the lens by hand.

"i would clean my xbox every couple of time weeks it will destroy your lens the xbox wont have beable to read anything."

First of all, I have no experience on cleaning Xboxes, and I basically have no theoretical knowledge about it either, but being compulsive about cleaning is never a good thing of course!
It's just like defragging your hard disk.
It'll help, sure, but you shouldn't do it every week or your hard disk will just wear down in no time.
The same with polishing metals, the "dirt" is actually oxydized metal, sometimes even forming a protective layer, so everytime you remove that layer you wear down your metal.
In short, never overdo your cleaning. :)

I am just going to leave my Xbox the way it is, it is clean enough.
