Xbox 2 >?< Playstation 3

Hello. I tried searching the internet for myself but I found too many rumors and not fact. Maybe you guys know. Does anyone know, from the most recent updated information about the Xbox 2 and the Playstation 3, which one is supposed to be more powerful?

Xbox 2 will probably have multiplayer capabilities greater than PS3. However PS3 has NVidia I think..

Why would Nvidia matter? Just curious, and I'm betting the PS3 will be more powerful since it's being released at a later date. I do know that Xbox 2 is supposed to have directX 10 though.

i think the Xbox 2 will have better games this time around and better online capabilities, but i think the PS3 will have more power-but will be harder/more expensive to make games for.

I don't care wich one is "best" I know they both gonna have their strong and weak points, and that they're both gonna be awesome consoles. BTW, is it true that Halo 3 is gonna use UE3? Because that would be S.W.E.E.T.!

VickissV3 is getting pretty near to what i think...
which console is better depends on which games there will be for them. and thus it's a matter of your individual taste.

i think the hardware power doesn't matter a bit as long as it's delivering some nice games. i mean look at the xbox specs - the hardware is really getting old now. but who cares? there are games like halo2 and uc2 that look awesome even though the hardware is getting old.

Microsoft is going a bit early I think with the new Xbox. But it'll certainly be a closer battle this time.

Even if one was more powerful than the other, it wont be by a long shot. The way these new systems will be pumping out graphics, the real question is, will the graphics matter anymore between the 2?

@pop_pip - i guess you're thinking of something like the 'average' console cycling or what (like releasing a new console a every so-and-so years)?
if so then microsoft is really a bit early but on the other hand they really have to release it at about the same time as the ps3 or n5 (or whatever it's called these days) are released. i think there will be quite a few people (who are not hard-core fans of one specific console) who will buy a ps3 instead of the xbox2 if the latter wasn't available....

Yea, their will be a MMORPG probally ready for the release. But i do hope that the next gen consoles wait. I would not rush to get the system out becuase theres still many more great games to come out. Early next year i think would be smarter.

If you had the OXM copy that you got the UC2 demo in. There is a whole article on how the xbox has the phantasy maker such, and such.
Oh and the XBOX is way more powerfull than the PS2 in many ways.Actually most ways.

PS3 will be using the CELL archtecture Sony and friends have been working on, for basicly every thing.

Unless I missed it somehow, aforementioned article isn't in the OXM with the UC2 demo disc.
At least not in the UK one, maybe/probably in the USA one.
I heard there is a UC2 video included with the USA version as well, so apparently the 2 versions are quite different.
