View Full Version : Online problems with Xbox live? Read on...

Well, first off... I'm sure I shouldn't be posting this here, but I didn't want to PM everyone on this board. ;) If you love this game as much as I do, but have many online problems like I do, then read on...

There's this program for the PC called Xbox Connect. It lets you play any game that supports the System Link feature online for free.

What does this have to do with UC2 users? Well, I just tested it out with a friend in normal DM, and we went 3 maps without any glitches, crashes, or anything. Of course, there's no rankings or stats, but this is a way to play the game online without bugs. (hopefully, like I said we only went 3 maps and had no problems) If you want to check it out the site is www.xbconnect.com and my username on that program is Ravenant if you want to play anytime. This is a way to play the game until the patch comes out at least. Enjoy!

I wish I could use XBC. The problem is, I have a wireless setup because my xbox is all the way in my garage, and my computer is in the living room. So I can't run a cord from my xbox to my computer. From the setup options that they have on the site, it doesn't look like it's possible for me to do it. I've heard it works really well though. I think if I did set it up I'd play UC2 and Halo 1.

Wait, if I understand you right, you seem to think you have to have your Xbox hooked to your PC. Nope, not at all. As long as they are hooked to the same router/hub it will work just fine. Give it a shot sometime, if that's what you were saying.

And Warpig, I'm on at random times, but I'm adding you to my buddy list. Do the same for me, thanks.

Most of these problems are because of scratched disks or bad connections I wonder. But it's up to unreal to handle their antique equipment.

Nope, those are not the cause of the problems. The fact that I can play over XBconnect just fine, but not on Live shows there's something wrong with their Live portion of the game. Just chill, this thread is to try to get more people on Xbconnect so people that have problems can actually play online.

Neither XBC or Kai/XLink is illegal.. dunno where you heard that load from.

Ravenent, i already have XBC, i've had it for well over 6 months now. I just want to try out the others and see what they're like. XBC is sweet, kind of laggy back when i played halo 2 on it, but that's ok.

Ahh, didn't know that. Yeah, I was just trying to get everyone on one thing. I guess I'll check out this other one though.


Ranilin, what's your Xlink name? Mine is Ravenant

Edit: Just checked out Xlink, and I gotta say I like XBconnect better. More people on XBconnect and more straight forward than Xlink.

I didn't have lag with halo 2 on XBC, and it's not illegal, it's 100% LEGAL!!! Oh btw, there was a fix that reduced lag a few weeks ago :)
But it doesn't fix the online problems, I played one time and had the same thing trip had in his video (unable to pick up items, unable to use elevators, unable to fire....)

Hmm. When I went to XBC's site and looked at all the setup options, it seemed to me that I had to have my xbox and PC hooked up to each other. If I don't though, then I think XBC would work for me. I just don't know how to set it up though.

I'm not sure if its legal or illegal, but microsoft has been sued by many companies for scams and get away with it all the time.

If its illegal: what harm will it do to microsoft, they are already filthy rich, it will only take away 1/465436534654 of the money they have. Be generous microsoft. microsoft is a perfect example of capitalism gone wrong.
