With more information of Envy seeing the light of day, and after watching the tools demonstration at the Nvidia booth at GDC (and being connected with a few UT2k4 mods) I felt the need to ask. Is EPIC considering supporting the currently still active UT2k4 mods in a converstion to Envy before its release.

Valve said they would do something simliar, but all that happened was CS: Source, and SVEN COOP getting the tools a few months before release.

As the guy demonstrating at GDC on the main floor (sorry I forgot your name hehe) said, Epic will never release a game without modding tools. What about releasing the modding tools before the game?

Well, thanks for taking the time to read this ramble of mine. And it was great meeting Mark and Tim in person at GDC, I have never stood so close to gaming greatness :)

All the active mods?
Depending on your definition of active, I still think there are a lot.

Epic will (unless they completely change their feelings towards the community) support the people making mods for Envy, just like they did mods for UT2004.
That's all there is to it, the mod developers will have to do all the hard work themselves, that's the way these things work.

Envy is going to rock.

A) I have no doubt Envy is going to rock

B) I have no doubt EPIC will always support mod teams (They would have MSU contests if they didn't)

Just an inquiry into before release support, to get mods out to the community faster, if not shortly after release. Just a crazy idea that I'm sure there are far to many legal problems with when I think it over more but oh well. One can always dream.
