Sorry, this forum is for Unreal & Epic Games discussion, not Halo 2.
http://www.gamespot.com/news/2005/04/15/news_6122355.html
Can it be coincidence? Perhaps...
But I think a certain developer that starts with "Bun" and ends with "ie" might be getting a little nervous :D
I'm ok with it, I'm confident it won't steal UC2's thunder :D
But the question is, do YOU believe that this little maneuvre of H2 will have any impact on UC2's release/sales?
EDIT: I made this only because of how it relates to UC2 directly :P

"Rule #3:
Keep discussions on topic! Please refrain from discussions not pertaining to our games or company. There are plenty of other places in the vast Internet to discuss your political or social views. "
First off, this forum is General Discussion. What makes threads off and on topic is shrouded in mystery within the heads of Epic as they are not clearly defined (and if topics like this become locked they should be). Rule #3 says that anything that DOES NOT pertain to their games should not go on these boards. Nothing else.
This topic clearly pertains to Unreal Championship 2, and deals with the heart of its financial viability as a good source of income for Epic. TELL ME WHY this thread should be locked.
Back on topic, if you didn't get what I was saying above, the question is:
Do you believe that this little maneuvre of H2 will have any impact on UC2's release/sales?
Thank you.
"This topic clearly pertains to Unreal Championship 2"
I agree

It's a coincidence, nothing more. The market's big enough for the both of them, and they cater to a different niche anyway.
Many fans of Halo's gameplay dislike UC's and vice versa. Meanwhile those that like both, like me, will probably go for UC2, since a few maps and whatnot isn't a big deal to me.

Hmm, very true pip...that seems surprisingly even and fair minded, actually :D The truth of that comes to me more and more every day, as just about 0 people think both of them are good in their own way (which is what I believe, except that UC2's pros far outweighs H2's pros :) ). So yea I hope you're right about it not having a dent...it's just with H2 being the huge XBox Live beast that it is right now, having activity there on April 18th got me a little nervous for UC2's release :(
And to the above...which would you prefer to have a discussion on Halo 2 and Unreal Championship 2 in: in the UC2 ONLY forum or GENERAL forums? I'd say its better to compare the 2 on General :) [man sometimes I think everyone on these boards are trying to be moderators themselves lol ;) ...]

Who cares, UC2 is still gonna be a world wide seller.

We don't need more, we just need more active ones, but they lock the bad threads before anything gets out of hand, so it's cool.

<sigh> fts how is this thread off topic :P And why in God's name do I feel like I'm fighting just to allow us to discuss it a bit? :( The thread ended in my opinion when I said "Amen 2 that", and you've bumped it for that comment. It's cuz of you types that is making this thread more a debate about MAKING THE THREAD than just letting it run its perfectly fine course. Congradulations, moderator wannabes? :(
