its not skinned yet , thats just the model

That is amazing. I can't wait to play that thing in the game. The only other thing that needs to be done is the UC2 sniper rifle, and the Cannister Gun. If I could model well, I'd do it, but right now I'm just a model noob.

any other weapons you think would be cool to convert?
I'm thinking the model for the flak cannon

hey the second beta is out and it plays almost identicly to the UC2 version, all the way down to the cool charging effects. The finally will be released tomorrow , and I was just wondering if anyone else checked it out to see how it compares to the uc2 counterpart
it can be found here :

Perhaps it's just me, but am I the only one who is not too keen on this idea? I don't really mind weapons from previous Unreal games being ported/recreated for newer Unreal titles. (In fact, if I recall correctly, Epic has given the green light to such actions.) And I'm not going to delve into copyright or IP about this situation (that's Epic's call,) but let me ask you a question...
Which would you rather see: the same weapon over and over again or something new with the spirit of the original?
Take a look at the Chaos UT 2: Evolution mod for UT2004; it features a weapon reminiscent of the Ripper weapon from Unreal Tournament known as the C.U.T.T.E.R.. However, the C.U.T.T.E.R. still retains a charm of its own both by the coloration/design and by the slight alterations to its function. On the whole, it's not too terribly different from its source material, but I can see the Chaotic Dreams team thought, "Let's bring back the Ripper, but let's make it better and more suited for our mod."
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but you should imitate to develop your own style.

hmm , Im not too fond of the cutter , but im am definitely glad that it is in the game and that they didn't make it a 100% rip - off ( no pun intended). But I think that there is definitely room to have the ripjack in in ut04 , since the UT series hasn't seen it before. and it fits in perfectly. I am also really surprised how much it resembles the uc2 ripjack, in aesthetics and functionality.

Use this with the UC2 skins for UT2004, and someone will definately make maps from UC2 to UT2004, and you basically have UC2 without the melee.
05-02-2005, 05:43 PM
kinda , you have the mixture of the best gameplay with the best weapon and level design , doesn't get better than that
05-02-2005, 06:02 PM
You can't take the awesome gameplay of UC2 and put it into UT2004, it just can't be done.
05-02-2005, 06:23 PM
well ut04 has the best gameplay, defintiely the most balanced

I download it on Saturday, nice job. I like the look/style, & how it fits right into any gametype. Now this is the type of weapon needed for UT:Envy ;)
