Errrm... something tells me that Marcus and co wouldn't move too hot underwater. That armour does look kind of heavy :p

That actually would be a pretty awesome level idea. The lights flickering on and off, having to surface, some wierd Locust beasties clawing their way through the metal... awesome. :)

Maybe they don't wear armor all the time? I doubt that it was welded to their skin.

Cause that would kind of hurt...

But it would be an awesome idea. Or perhaps small bodies of water that a creepy, new, (unreleased that is) locust could come out of.

well i guess, we never discussed if there was an ocean on sera, but i don't think gears could be the type of game to have an underwater level

Maybe an underwater research station like in the upcoming game Bioshock. That could provide for some claustrophobic and intense battles. However, I doubt something like that would be in Gears. I'd like for Epic to prove me wrong though. ;)

I can defiantely see levels set underground around underground lakes, but I wouldnt really want anything on a boat. Also it would be cool since we are going to be underground for part some level I would assume, to have a industrial setting around these underground lakes.

Yeah, or sewer type situations. That would be awesome, running through a sewer system ankle deep in sewage. Not IRL, of course.

You could dive into the water for cover...the bullets only penetrating a couple feet down...

Unless it was a high-powered rifle, like a sniper rifle. Then it would go more than a couple of feet.

It could be an underwater Imulsion mining facility or something, I think that could be pretty cool, with tubes that look out into the depths of the sea. And it could make for some very cool, claustrophobic, close-quarter combat, not to mention visually it could be stunning.

If you look at the video taken from the Xbox 360 launch event, you'll see a level where it's dark and raining outside with water cascading down the sides of buildings and trees. It's pretty stunning. There's also a brief part where Marcus looks around and you catch a glimpse of a lake or some other body of water.

Yeah that looked awsome. Be fun even to sail across the water. I noticed in some UE3 demos that there was a boat in the distance; that would be fun as hell :D

ooh ooh you could use sharks and dolphins as cover
and instead of a chainsaw use some sharkteeth and cut the locusts with them :)

lol nope its the other way around, pistols go the farthest under water, because the sniper and other weapons shoot so fast the water tention almost dissolves the bullet..... credit to mythbusters

that was a funny as ep of mythbusters
they broke there orignal water tank they were using with the shotty!

i know, i really wanted to shoot some of those guns :eek: :eek:
any ways it would be cool if somehow the locust hi-jacked a cruise ship and u parachute from a helicopter and had to kill everyone on it. cover would be tables, beds, bars, most of the fighting would be inside and it would be stormy and u can feel the boat rocking and if not in cover u slide around on the boat

Yeah, glass windows and they are crackable allowing water to come in and drown you....making you start the area over again! :D

That'd would be crazy. You'd totally have to go melee on the Locust, doing sneak attacks or make sure all your shots hit their mark. :cool:
