Alright, because of lazyness/business i have been slightly neglecting my computer, and i have a few problems that have come about that i'd really like to fix, the most major of which being that Unreal Tournament won't run. unfortunately, as of now i can't reinstall it, because my friend has my game (his cd's were scratched so i lent him mine, i should get that back sometime, but while that happens...)

Alright, when i click Ut2004, i get a runtime error:
"This application has requested the rentime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information"

It stopped working a long time ago (a few months) and for a while it said my filemanager window was the wrong size and i probably had a corrupted installation, on installing the newest patch it does the new one.

Other minor (and very frustrating problems)
My DVD drive wont work, i'm pretty sure i don't have the drivers for it, i would like them, if anybody has advice. Dell dimension 4800. I formatted the hardrive, and after that it didn't work. Such a pity.

My DOS refuses to work, the Run:/ application works, but any dos based program opens for a good half a second and then closes itself.

anyhelp on any of these, especially the first would be great.
I'm tired of playing the demo, i want to live!

so yeah, that's all from me.

It's possible (for the DVD problem) i need a new decoder driver, where would i acqure that?

Well, I can only help you on the first on, and even there I'm not entirely sure. I can tell you though that the last time I got that exact error message, I had to, get this, delete virtually every single file in my ut2004 folder and reinstall the game. There's probably a way around it, but when I was trying to get help, the above was all I was told that worked.

Oh, and don't do what I did: make sure you have your cd-key and the install discs (5 of em) before you try reinstalling ;)

DOS doesn't work? I remember my father's PC had a similar problem. Actually, I don't know if he ever even addressed it, let alone fixed it. I wish I could help you on that one.

EDIT: Whoa, I started a reply to this thread in General discussion, but it must have been moved during that time because Icame out of it in Troubleshooting and Technology. Felt a little strange. :bulb:
