So I play UT2004 Invasion. For the first few waves its fine, but after a while I start to lose graphics. I cannot see the ammo coming out of my gun and sometimes I cannot even see the monsters. I was told by the server admin that it was probably my settings in my video card and I dont know what to change. I have a Raedon 9250, 250mb graphics card... i also have 1 gig of ram in my computer, my processor is more than enough so I know thats not it. What do you suggest I do to fix this problem.

It may be your Network Speed setting, and you'll probably have it set too low (eg modem when you have cable).

The setting is on the gui somewhere, but Im at work so can't tell you exactly!

Good luck!

Your Radeon is overheating. If youve overclocked it, set it to normal, if its not that, consider getting a new graphics card.

Yeah, I'd say it sounds like an overheating video card.

EDIT: I missed the part about invasion and only projectiles disappearing. This is sometimes pretty normal during the high levels of invasion simply because all the monsters create an obscene amount of lag.

What kind of broadband connection you using? Sometimes server admins crank up the server tickrate really high, which will magnify any packet loss problems you might have on your connection and generally make for a crappy gaming experience.

I'm pretty confident this is your problem. The reason you are fine for the first few waves is that there are very few objects being fired around the map (just stupid grasshoppers and the like).

Throw some missle spewing beasties, and laser firing skaarj into the ring however, and there are suddenly too many objects for the server to updating you with on a 'modem' network speed setting. First things to be cut are the projectiles apparently....

I fail to see how an overheating graphics card would pick on single objects like monsters or ammo, but Im up for being proved wrong!

that had me going too.

Usually when I experience an overheat, i get extremely strange anomolies on the screen, like multi-colored patterens and "light beams", or strange stretching... stuff like that.
(Which only happened because I insisted on running everything on Holy **** settings at high res, with only a mid range spec comp.)

sometimes when you shoot and nothing comes out of the gun its a sign of a lost connection to the server, or packet loss at that moment. Press f6 in game and keep and eye on it. it shows ping, packet loss, and netspeed from the server to you. Sometimes when the netspeed gets maxed out you'll see a giant lag hiccup. make sure it says 10000 netspeed, and not something really low.

doesn't sound like a net problem tho, you didn't mention lag. But then again, are you seeing artifacts, wierd looking stuff on the screen? You mentioned "Not" seeing things. Maybe you should try running a 3d benchmark, card will get hot in other games and stuff too.
