I've made my first map and I'm really having a good time but now I can't get the game to show the map in the listing (in game that is). I suppose I have to define a game type or something but I really don't have any idea. Any help would be really appreciated.

well depending on what type of map it is, you do have to put the letters in front of the title.

for deathmatch or team deathmatch, you would put

DM-MapName

for assault, you would put

AS-MapName

for onslaught, you would put

ONS-MapName

for bombing run, you would put

BR-MapName

for double domination, you would put

DOM-MapName

i hope that helps.

Also you should put that you are the author in 'View > Level Properties' and the expand the 'LevelSummary' section.

Heres everything if you don't know.

Author: Put your name in here. (It comes up on the level preview.)

DecoTextName: Sorry but I have no clue.

Description: Self-explanatory... it is shown below your screenshot of the level preview.

ExtraInfo: Not really sure why you need this.. but I cause it could be a good place to put the version or something in here.

HideFromMenus: Don't touch this or you won't be able to play your map.

IdealPlayerCount: The minimum and maximum players your level should hold.

Screenshot: Place your screenshot in here. (Here's a tutorial of how to do it if you don't know. http://www.newmediahull.net/NMsite/lrng_mats/ued-html/workshop3.htm ~its at the very bottom.)

Title: The name of your map. Make sure this is the same as what you save your map as (without the extension of course).

You forgot the most important one, View >> Level Properties >> LevelInfo >> DefaultGameType.

And, the title doesn't have to be the name of the map. For instance, UT99's DM-Peak's title was "The Peak Monestary".

o really.. i heard it gives you an error if you dont make them the same. i guess some people are just paranoid

If it gave you an error if they weren't the same, they wouldn't have put that option in and just pulled the map name from the file. ;)

Thanks for the help on that. Here's the new problem with it. My friend uses an older version of the game so when we lan he hosts. When everyone connects to the map we have to download. That wouldn't be much of a problem except we put it on our computers before playing. What's up with that?
