Hi

I was just wondering what the scale in UnrealEd was. How many units per metre/foot? Im not sure of any other way to word this question so i hope you understand :).

some people will tell you that the grid is something like 16 UU is one foot, but I think it is a lot more relative to what you are doing. if you want to make something realistic than it matters a lot more than if you are just trying to judge how big Torlan is in real life. first person view has a slightly different scale than 3rd person view. if you are in 1st person view, your eye level is 90 UU above a level surface. so if you figure that your eyes are 6 feet above the ground, then a foot is a little under 15 units. That makes the top of your head 96 units off the ground.
This is a good rule of thumb, although you should judge your scale for more specific things on a case by case basis since what is realistic often is not perfect for a video game. Things like door frames like in real life need to be a little larger than normal a UT player can fit through it without getting stuck. I hope this helps.
