Next time try looking in a map that has what you want.

xWeatherEffect, an actor, should help you.

Yeah xweathereffect is good. Only drawback is when people have world detail turned down they cannot see it.

Epic does have a map solely dedicated to emitters. If you go into unrealed and then browse the UT2004/maps directory you should find a map that has lots of example emitters in it. Other then that learning from example/playing around is the best way.

The weather actors have their own setting that turns them off ingame (and a lot of hardcore players do turn it off)

I know about xweather but i need to know where the rain texture is and why my rain looks like its only raining on me, plus they look like squares. i want it like in electric fields.

Because it is only raining around you, that's actually how xWeatherEffects work; they only spawn particles around your own first-person field of vision. If they actually spawned particles all around the map, all the time, you'd probably have plummeting framerates on even the latest processors and GPUs.

If you want it like in CTF/BR-DE-Elecfields, just open the map, and use the Search For Actors tool to search for xWeatherEffect. If I recall correctly, the map actually has three of them, all of which work at the same time. Lastly, the reason they look like squares could either be the default texture, or you have the texture scale set too large for the particles. All particle effects (aside from mesh emitters) are simply a cluster of moving square sheets with decorative textures.

What do i do when i'm finished searching the actor?

You copy it and paste it into your map. I guess I should have mentioned that before. There are three of them, if you want the rain in your map exactly like in CTF/BR-DE-Elecfields, you'll need to copy all three. It doesn't matter where you place an xWeatherEffect in any map, it will do the same thing for every player no matter where it is.

I belive they work by zone/volume dont' they, so you can make them not rain inside...???

It will rain/snow everywhere except for inside volumes that have the same Tag as the xWeatherEffect.

Evilmidget22, I'm not exactly sure what could be causing that. Make sure that only the xWeatherEffect is selected when you copy. You might also want to try the other map; say, if you're using CTF-DE-Elecfields, try copying from BR-DE-Elecfields, or vice versa.
