We need to make a clan for these forums only

Ya we definately need something like that. Most forum sites have their own clans, such as GameFaqs, Gamespot, etc. First we need a good name, which I haven't thought of yet. I guess we could hope one of us gets the game first, runs home, and creates a clan Gears Of War. We could have leadership, based on the major parts of a clock. Like the Leader could be the face of the clock, and the co-leaders the hands, and the majority could be the gears,cogs, springs, etc. Any ideas?

Sounds like fun. GearHeads is also a very good idea. The only good name which comes to my mind, to be perfectly honest. :) But think of how many other clans which will have the same name. Something unique would be great, but there really are none I can think of atm.

I like Beserkers alot... maybe because I played DII so much. Anyways, I'm really liking this clan idea, even before the game comes out. This GoW community comes off as very friendly and eager... count me in!

Why dont we create a huge clan with sub clans in it. The sub-clans can be made up of teams of 4. 1 leader type guy with 2 well rounded players and one long range specialist. That forces 4 people to play with each other and learn how each other play.

This could be helpful for huge clan matches. 8 player ctf match for example, could be composed of 2 teams of 4 (berserker subclan and gears subclan for example). That way they would be two leaders overseeing 3 players that they're familiar with. Anyone whos played any games with more then 5 or so players know how hard it is to communicate and get any type of strategy going in a CTF game. Instead of everyone running a muck, the gears can choose to play defense while berserkers play offense. And if that doesnt work the two captains can just switch strategies and positions and then order they're team around, instead of individually worrying about whos doing what.

This will also help with the naming problems. I personally dont like berserkers, i think gears or gearheads work better.

Does that make any sense?

IMO "Gearheads" or "Gearheadz" sounds really representative of a fanbase, which is what these forums are. "The Gears" also sounds pretty badass. I'm planning on picking up a 360 on the onset of summer after exams and would be glad to join the clan, I was on the fence for awhile but I can't justify not playing GoW on the console I buy.

Ditto. I'd love to join as well, but I don't have Xbox Live at the moment. I will get it in a few months. My Xbox360 is currently gathering dust because I don't have any games to play - Yeah, you can actually get tired of Oblivion:rolleyes: - so I don't see the point of purcasing it so soon.

So how is the set-up for the clan going to be? Are we going to have multiple leaders commanding different teams? If so, we should find out what everyone is good at. (even though the game is not out, you can by past experiences with games like GRAW or any other tatical game). We should have even teams of at least 1 sniper, 2 assualt men, and 1 demolitions men(Gernades, Rocket Launcher, etc....)

I think we should just join up and play, and after a week or two we should start picking things out. Theres no way we will know whos good at what until that day comes around. In halo i spend most my times yelling out strategies and making sure my friend gets a hand of the sniper since hes better at it then the other 3 players - but in gears of war i might be better at running into bullets, who knows?

I think the small 4 man teams should have 1 captain, 2 avg players that can keep each other alive, and atleast one person strong with long range weapons. I dont believe should be "the grenade guy" or "the shotgun guy", but thats why we'd have small sub teams. We can have our own strategies, and during big games we come together and combine the two.

My gf is deff gonna want to play, we should have members that just play and arent a part of any particular team.

Im pretty much good for anything except sniping, me sniping is like someone running blind folded through a field of land mines holding a grenade.I am also very strategic I like playing as a team figuring out the best way to tackle situations myself but I can adjust to any way the game would go.

How about the entire group of us can be called, "The Gears". Then we can take some forum leaders, have them create a sub clan and get a couple of guys on their team. It would be too massive to try and organize clan matches and it would just be bad in general if we tried to handle such an big clan by itself, as I see in the future this clan growing very much.
