I have noticed that in every player animation package, the players all have the exact same motion animations as the original game player animations... is there something everyone is using for player animation to get the same set of animations into unreal? :bulb: :noob: ?

'tis magic. it revealed 464 potential sources of answers and clues to your questions, using the simple incantation, "animation."
to smooth your path to the great unknown regions of enlightement, i will suggest a more advanced incantation: "animation set"
if all else fails, and desperation threatens to overwhelm, one might attempt the awesomely potent spell....
"Wiki"

Yeah, most models use the originals. To do that you'll need the skeleton files which you should be able to find by searching keywords "ut2004" and "rig", or something like that. Perhaps "skeletons" too. If you don't want to use fileplanet, search at beyondunreal.com, it's probably easier to find them there. Also look for the ut2003rigs since some of the same skeletons are used.
It's of course easier that way since all you do then is assign your mesh to the bones and don't have to animate a thing.

it also changes your Maya workspace axis orientation to Z-up, so be warned!
