PRESS RELEASE

The Ultimate Community Map Pack (UCMP) brings new content to the Unreal Tournament 2004 community
UCMP is proud to give you the “Ultimate Community Map Pack.” This is a pack comprised of 13 high quality levels that have been turned inside out to give you the best that we can. UCMP understood the goal of creating levels that had great gameplay, Now, We give you Volume one of our Ultimate Community Map Pack… So, please, enjoy a couple rounds of Fragging fun!
The UCMP will bring to the community what they most want: maps that play well and look brilliant. The maps have been thoroughly tested and are, for the most part, error-free. The UCMP will also provide several bonus packages ranging from custom Static Meshes to a new weapon and some other goodies. A website has gone live with screenshots, map descriptions, and links to the staff’s favorite websites as well as UCMP forums to provide feedback, or just to get to know a favorite author.
UCMP has come together, not to be like the rest, but to give the community what we feel they lack. There are levels out there that may look better, but are they as fun to play? Well, that is up to you to decide.
You can download this pack from: http://www.ucmappack.org Feel free to drop us an e-mail letting us know how you feel. We also have a dedicated server, courtesy of Bios, so that you may join us in the action here is the IP: 216.176.177.186 check it out and enjoy the pack.

This is an amazing pack and I tried so so hard to mirror it at pcgamemods.com for you but something is up with our site. I see someone tried to send over a few single maps from here and even the entire map pack but our site isn't taking it. I tried several times to up the entire thing myself, but not working either. Well it would be a staff pick if it was up. I'll keep trying. I think these maps are incredible. I am more a DM/AS(which you guys didn't do any assault) player so I especially like those maps, but the ONS, CTF and DOM maps are great too.
One last thing - After quitting WoW this week from a bad patch, I was down. I played this and I forgot all about that game or being sad. Thanks for this release. It was exactly what I needed.

Well what can I say ... Great maps? Awesome job? Maybe ... but that still falls a bit short and no I won't pick at these great maps that are close to retail quality in many respects ...
So I will simply say thank you and hopefully you'll get half as much enjoyment out of the upcoming HaloUT Nexus CBP as you have given us. Excellent maps and nope I'm not saying which ones I liked best ... but I will say I have to play CTF more. ;)

Um, wow.. I was not all that hyped for this, for some reason none of the promo screenshots particularly grabbed me.. but damn, I like this pack as much as anything from the CBP.
Beautiful visuals, smooth gameplay, very fitting custom music (a huge plus in my book), superb use of movers, and loads of little touches that make the maps special. Cracking the glass in aquatic? awesome.
I don't play much onslaught but ABC is a riot, all the custom stuff makes it adorable, S for Shield.. Hoverbook.. rofl
It's a shame there is no BR or AS maps though.. hopefully in Volume 2? :D

Time to get IN-DEPTH with Carbohydrates! Or something!
ONS-ABC
Hoo-whee, a great map to kick off a great pack. Of course the letters were cool and all, but what got me was all the subtle detailing. The tree leaves, ground imprints, clouds, SPIDER M's, full pickup replacements... wow. Gameplay-wise it was fun as hell until Blue team started shooting through the ground when we were on their base node. Definately a keeper, 9/10
DOM-Cerebral
Meh. Not great, not bad. I dunno, this didn't really do much for me. Gameplay-wise it was average, looks-wise it was average. 5/10
DM-Xanadu
yes. 9.5/10 (.5 off for somewhat odd water at the top of the falls and just barely hindering flow)
DM-ThePits
Heh, what a blast. This would make an excellent single-player Quake 2 map or something, it just has the feel through lighting and architecture. Unique to play, quirks to figure out, lots of moving parts. Good times were had. Could use a bit better flow I think, as you'd never make it around the map in 1 life in a decently-filled map. 8.5/10
DM-RancidMetal
You know, I had high hopes for this, I really did. It's not bad, but it's trying to be too old or something. Clean rooms with dirty accents just doesn't really work for me. Chrome in one room, cobwebs the next? Gameplay really saves this one, it's a joy to play. 8.5/10
DM-PleasantValley
Well. It's a normal-grav Tokara or so. Some things like the chains don't really fit. The weapon bases look a lot like the jump pads (which you have to go out of your way to hit). Tighten it up and make it a 2-on-2 and it's be rockin'. Looks-wise, it's average. 7/10
DM-ImMortalis
Has looks down almost perfectly, just some oddities like the pinning skeletin should've been left out. Gameplay is pretty sharp but a little lacking with the large rooms having some odd dead-ends. 8.5/10 sound fair?
DM-Contrast
...Not my cup 'o tea. Pretty bland, looks like the author made this as a standard industrial map and went back and added the cold effect too late. The effect isn't really there at all. Gameplay-wise, this is FULL of open space. Hope you like sniping and trick-jumping. 7.5/10
DM-BloodRun
AWESOME MAP. Flow is just a LITTLE shy of perfect, with some rooms having too few ways out, but the atmosphere is BLOWING ME AWAY. This is one of few maps that pulls off the there's-more-to-it-than-you're-playing-in, but the difference is that with this map, you can actually feel yourself off in those blocked areas, if that makes sense (it doesn't). It has a continual skull theme that is ANYTHING but overdone, it's just nice and subtle here and there. Placement is great. Only truly weird thing is spawning in the air every time, but that's forgivable. 9.5/10
DM-1on1-Derelect
Best. 1-on-1. Ever. This is a freedom map, nothing is JUST for display. Those cliffs by the falls? Yeah, you can go there. Pipes all about? Go there. Flow is amazing, bots are great, only thing is there might be too many places to go, like that pointless balcony-thing at water-level by the pond. 9.85/10
CTF-Aithanarid
This was the castle one, right? Yeah, good theme, it's a castle but it seems new. Flow is standard for CTF. Worth keeping around, there just isn't anything outstanding in any department. 8/10
CTF-Aquatica
Hehe, just like one of my favorite CBP maps. Nicely vertical map, great visuals (I love it when people do those kinds of effects to a watery map), good play. 8.75/10
CTF-DecaneCaldera
Anyone who's spent some time in here should know what I mean when I say it's huge and tiny. Large map with fairly long routes but not too long, nice lighting that unfortunately favors blue, GREAT custom smesh work, and some narrow and small walkway areas. Fun, fun map. Seriously, just get it to check out the smesh work. 9/10
OVERALL: Keeper of a pack for sure. Some GREAT stuff added to DM, a very unique ONS map, and no bad CTF maps round this pack out nicely. Are there muts included? If so, I forgot to try any. Maps-rated alone, 91% (A-)

I wish pcgamemods, the site i work on...would let this file be hosted. It won't take. I tried so many times to post this up. I had others try for me, but when they hit submit it doesnt appear on the page and gets deleted or so it looks, from the ftp.... really angers me cause I so wanted to host this. I took all the screenshots too. I think 67 shots of this pack.
Anyway would be a staff pick on the page. I wrote up a big review too. Maybe I can find a new way to host this. We always host huge things like halout, tons of massive mods and other map packs. Not sure why this wasn't working.

Well, some of what I'm doing for UCMP volume 2 is a bit out there, so if we decide it does not fit the pack, then you will probobly see some of my new stuff in not to long. ;).

:) Great job guys
My favourite is CTF-Aquatica by Sjosz
-A vibrant map- best fps of all maps in pack-nice visuals-clean work-not confusing etc...
It was funny- I was expected that broken glass when I started the map(sound with it -a preassure and driping sea) everything was there and not overused. Bravo:up:
Other maps are astonishing too , but some maps suffer of low fps and bad lightning.
-Waterfall emiters(forgot the name of the map)
-red corona lights in RancidMetal
Other than that - nice pack with some nice visuals
-Movers -pit map and dom map(excellent job)
-Spiderwebs- finally looking as a spider webs
-Sounds are great
Overall a keeper:)
-and I'll try to make and finish a two maps for volume 2 if you are still interested.

Flow is amazing, bots are great, only thing is there might be too many places to go, like that pointless balcony-thing at water-level by the pond. 9.85/10
A Craftsman is always glad to hear when his work is apreciated ;)
Good point on the balcony below. I think it was there for people who fell off the ledge, also for visual "niceness" and all that.

Amazing! I especially like Aquatica because it has a nice simple layout with good weapon placement and its very beautiful. I love the breaking glass!
1on1-Derelict would be my other favorite save for the fact that I get framerates of 10 when standing on the edge looking in.

There's a HUGE bug in DM-1on1-Derelict. The 100A platform doesn't block projectiles. So, for example, when I grab flak and throw a flakball to the shield when the opponent is just about to grab it, it falls through the ground...
And there are WAY too many pickups IMO.

:bulb: I noticed it the 3rd minute of the 1st match in it... After missing a frag with a full loaded bio secondary that fell over the +100 shield letting the bot grabbing it...

yeah i see what you mean now. i think he used a sheet for that grate texture, and put a blocking volume over it.
