Name: SetTeamSymbols
Version: 1.0
Compatibility: UT2004
Description: This lets map creators set specific team symbols for their maps. Specify as many symbols as you want, with a randomness toggle.
Comments: First off, this is not my work; credit goes to Bonehed316. He gave me permission to package it in case any mapper would like to use it. That being said, this is more of a mapper's tool than an in-game mutator. I'm hosting it on my server at the moment, and I've uploaded it to UT200xHQ so there's a mirror.

Credits: Bonehed316 did all the work. I was more of the annoying push to help get out the bugs. ;)

Is it just for the flags? Or would it be possible for me to add team symbols to BSP? (doubt it), or my own Static Mesh?

I'm presuming it changes the textures on the tv screen and banner static meshes too?
I really like the idea, it's something that should've been in the game earlier.

I'm using it on the flags and banners, and I assume it would then work anywhere else the team logo appears (it also appears on the team/score screens when you hit ESC or F1 while playing, fyi)
CMan, I'm not sure about adding it to BSP or your own mesh. Someone more knowledgeable about scripting should probably answer, but I'd guess that there's either a specific way of creating a mesh OR a way of creating a texture that would allow it to be placed anywhere else you'd like.

Could probably just use a projector with the texture files right? I mean if you always want the same logo. The logos are stored as masked white drawings aren't they?

Yeah, you could ALmost do that. If you wanted to use the random feature of this tool, you couldn't - but you're right: If you want the same team symbols all the time, that would work fine.
What would be really cool would be if someone created a vehicle with the team logo painted on the hood or something

Hslooien could probably do the team symbols on the car trick... Post the idea on the unrealcore.net forums.

I'm hoping to find some help on this thing.
Made 3 images(testing purposes) and placed all 3 in a single UTX
Loaded my map(vctf version of Torlan), added the TeamSymbols actor, switched random to True and added my 3 images
Here's the problem, red flag/banners are solid white(even the poles) and blue flag/banners look "weird"
The image is being repeated on both flag/banner and the rest of the flag is just a flat blue color, no extra texturing like with the default symbols

hmm, crud... I remember this happening to me before, too. And I can't remember what I did to fix it, exactly. But I know it has something to do with the exact format you're saving the image in, say from Photoshop. Try NOT exporting an image with an alpha layer as your transparency, make it an incredibly simple grayscale? image... oh wait... I remember posting something about this on Shokazulu's forum...
Read everything - it appears I had success when exporting from Photoshop right to DDS

First thing I missed was TC_Clamp instead of wrap
Second thing I did was save them as DDS instead of TGA(seemed to work, not griping)
Last, I figured do a Build All just to be on the safe side
And, it works :D
