Name: Flag Domination
Version: 3.3
Compatibility: UT2004 with ECE bonus pack
Description:
It's like Capture the Flag, only with multiple flags that start out in the center. It's like Domination, only you capture flags instead of touching control points. Play it on foot using custom FD maps, or use vehicles in practically any ONS map.

Four scoring modes:
Rounds: Like Double Domination. Capture and hold 2 flags for 10 seconds to score, or 15 seconds for Vehicle Flag Domination.
Timed: Each captured flag scores 1 point every 10 seconds
Scavenger: Score 1 point per capture, and flags reappear in the middle after 10 seconds
Incursion: Like Scavenger, but you must capture at enemy capture points

Comments:
Version 3.3 has these changes:
- Timed scoring mode has been changed to score 1 point every 10 seconds, rather than 1 point per second.
- Fixes to enable custom flag placements for ONS-IslandHop and ONS-TIM-SlateSE
- Players get points for capturing flags
- Vehicle teams and sudden death rounds were fixed for Incursion scoring mode
- Several other bug fixes

Credits: I made it myself, but thanks go to those who let me make FD versions of their maps.

Regular Flag Domination plays on FD maps. FD-Orbital2 is included, and there are several more on my site. Vehicle Flag Domination plays on ONS maps.

Most of the FD maps are conversions of CTF or DOM maps, with one exception (FD-Ethkantes) where I show off my meager mapping skills. I'm always looking for a talented mapper that can help me show off this mod's true potential with an original map.

Some of the maps i d/linged weren't ut2 files. they were like unr. They don't appear in the list of maps ingame.

Those would be for the original UT version of Flag Domination. It's been around a while :)

Glad to see this gametype hasnt been abandoned.

I also noticed the file FD-Orbital2.ut2 is now a different size. Has it been improved in some way?

And I really like the new timing method. The old way was a bit "busy" shall we say. Teams scoring hundreds of points each. Now it feels more like the great King of the Hill gametype for Perfect Dark.

:D

Yeah, I had been wanting to make that change for a while, and I'm very pleased with how it came out. I especially like how you can get Last Second Saves by stealing a flag just before it scores.

The old point-per-second scoring was of course based on UT Domination. It might be interesting to take the Classic Domination mod and modify it to use 10-second scoring. I bet that would change how you defend your control points.

I have a problem here: The mod would not install on my system, citing that I need the UT 2004 bonus pack.

My UT 2004 version is the Editor's Choice edition, for information.

Any help would be appreciated.

Try the zip version instead.

This makes me want to give up on having a umod version at all.

It looks like I'll just have to take out the ECE requirement altogether, and just tell people it's required.

I took a look at the Manifest.ini file on my Mac. I had installed the latest patch, which included the ECE bonus pack, without having previously installed the ECEBP. The Manifest.ini doesn't mention the bonus pack. That renders the whole umod requirement system pretty much useless

On the bright side, FD-Dissipate (a conversion of the cDOM map) is finally nearing completion - and it will also be the first FD conversion performed by the original author :)

If you can't run a Umod file, re-install the patch.

meh, Umod files are for noobs who can't run winzip and navigate a directory tree.
