Description: This is a remake of DM-1on1-Agitation110 by Derek "D.J.P." Paredes, basically i have changed the gameplay for faster more fluid action, with the single idea of speed, making this map a bit harder a lot of fun to play.

Comments: This is my first go at mapping i thought i did well :)

This version is only different in the Mascot it contains.

No gameplay, flow, weapon placement or anything else has been altered or modified. This version simply contains our Mascot. I made two versions because some of our local players/Beta testers said it was slightly distracting.

So because the download is small, you can have the best of both worlds, some say it looks killer, some say it distracts from the game play.

What do you think?

screenshots do not do this map justice.. always loved Agitation..the weapon and flow changes are spot on...lighting turned me off at first..but it does grow on you..

good work

No offense, but the lighting is butt when compared to the lighting of the original.

The lights were made intentionally to look like a dark seedy hole... were BRIGHTSKINS come into effect in a big way, that in mind the map needs to be real fast, not in Optimization as such, but in player movement from one spot to another.

To allow for that the map was tweaked to make getting from one area to the next fast, easy and in multiple ways, (ramps, dodges, jumps, ect...)

That also allowed for normal players not highly skilled in boosting to get to all the areas on the map easely. What is the point of having a map were the frk boost jumper gets all the goodies and the beginner gets pissed of at the disadvantage and leaves..... defeats the purpose of a map beign made to play.

The original version, was a campers playground, you had limited ways to get to the prick up top hammering you with shock and flack... now the same prick has to move around, cause you can get up top via various ways... almost killing camping on the spot and introducing flow and pace.

The mini gun was removed, THANK F'n GOD FOR THAT!!!!!!!!

No other weapon in UT is more overpowered or ridiculous at the same time. It ruins every map it's in, when some n00b grabs it and starts to run around with his/her finger permanantly glued to the trigger. ESPECIALLY on a small 1on1 map, that weapon should be banned!

The 100a was replaced by the 50a.... no more Armour hoes, camping and dominating the map with the dammed flack and 100a....

Enought health vials were placed around the map to allow for the pep, oppisite the d00d who just nailed the 50a to gain some counter balance to the 50a.... providing for a tight full on slugfest... not based on who timed this and that better, but based on skill... fighting and weapon skill.....

The changes were made deliberatly and over a long period of time, to introduce more grass roots dueling elements into the map, and less reliance on camping and armour whoring.

A map whos desing was heavily looked upon was CBP2-Achilles, that has to be one of the most l337 maps ever made, I have seen l337 players brought back down to earth by regular joes, on that map, because of it's utter brilliant weapon and item placement.

Not comparing Agitation to that masterpiece, but my point is, maps need to be balanced in more ways then one, for them to provide a true cross-level experience. (Cross-level as in player skill levels)

Finally the lights.. the lights are there to proivide a soothing change to the ghastly overly lit 90% of UT4 maps, that are just too damm bright.... the lights are intentionaly dark and colourfull to properly enchance UTComp brightskins......


Nicely done Druzilla, looking forward to your next map. Excellent 1st effort.

Ps: This map in it's original format, was never very popular on our server (Since it came out in UT2k3) only a few fell in love with it. But this new version has achived the impossible and has topled the mighty Rankin of the Most played list.

And having 150 shield and 199 health and get killed by one shockcombo is fair ?

It seems that only the bloody shockrifle is existing on most of the public server ..

YES but the Shield gun deflects 100% of incoming primary and secondary fire.... you will still creamed if the combo goes off... in ya face lol...

but a quick foward dodge takes care of that....

Unlike the mini, were the bloody thing literaly pins ya to the ground.. till you die amiserable death... a bit like the bloody Link gun.... Lockdown my arse.....
