Can I use a texture sheet with subdivisions on a mesh emitter instead of a sprite emitter?

I have a blood texture sheet with 3x3 sub divisions that worked great for a sprite emitter. I swithced to a mesh emitter so I can put a shader on the blood for some reflection.

When I try to use the subdivisions on the mesh emitter it doesn't work. All the settings are in the particle editor but they don't appear to do anything.

Any thoughts here?

THANKS!

Adam

a mesh emitter emits meshes, as the name states.
So you can not use the subdivided texture to be emitted.
But If wanted as skin for the mesh. But I think thats not what you meant.

To have shaders in an emitter, u need to use an xemitter instead of the normal emitters.
