Hey there,
We're building a mod with custom models, custom gameplay, and lot of other custom stuff, but the models are giving some issues.
I can't get the torso twist to work, we tried different rotations of the bones but the effect kept the same.
Is there anyone who a simular problem, and/or knows what is wrong and how to fix this ?

As u can see leaning forward and backwards works fine, but turning is giving a quite funny effect.
thx in advance

Hmm... Are the bone names the same?

no, the bones that matter are called:
root
head
neck
back_01
back_02
Is there a sertain rotation for the bones and/or Maya perhaps u have to build the skeleton ?
perhaps there's a step by step tutorial for things like this, though I've been looking for one, and I couldn't find one that specificly mentioned the rotation the things had to be

I'm pretty sure Unreal uses the bone names when doing this, so they would have to have the same name as the 2k4 skeleton bones.

ah, k, thought u ment the induvidual bones ...
anywayz, I'm sure that's ok as well, for multiple reasons:
I'm the scripter of the team, and I made sure that in my Pawn class the correct bone names were assigned to the bones inside the script. When u look inside the 'pawn' or 'xpawn' class of UT2k4, u'll see several bone names u can assign for the torsotwist feature, offcourse I renamed the bone name inside that class to the bone names used for the rig.
the 2nd reason: There is a twist, as u can see in the images it twists and turns at the right bone, but just in the wrong direction.
It's also the direction that need to be fixed, but I have no clue how, and where, is it scripting, or is it rigging, or perhaps the rotation of the entire pawn inside maya ?
We tried several things but they all had exactly the same result, not even a slightest difference.

I have to ask, why is that poor man's head on fire?

well, actually, the stick is on fire, but the flame isn't set up properly yet, so when the guy is moving it appears like his head is on fire, we are aware of that and it will be fixed when there's time left
