Today I have seen on some server like a license agreement before connecting ...
Basicially I got a screen with a message which I had to confirm to be able to login ...
Only after this agreement all mutator were downloaded etc ...
I like this option very much .. Is this kind of a mutator or is it a build in function in Unreal ?
By the way, It give me 15 second until I was able to please ok ...
I would like to use this to inform user about maybe high downloads etc. before the downloads even starting ...
Any idea ?

Sounds like the AntiTCC external file checker to me...

This is what I thought in the first place, but it isn't
This one is pretty cool.
You connect from the serverlist within Unreal ... get the message which you have to confirm and THEN you get the connection and downloads etc....

Post the server that you were playing on (IP address). It might be only on their servers.

ServerActors=DruidsPlayerAgreement.PlayerAgreement Manager
Try that...it resolves the package name, but I still can't get it to ask for confirmation to enter the server....

It displays the agreement after you have connected and after you have downloaded everything.

Yeah. But when i start the server and connect to it, nothing comes up to agree with. The game just starts as normal.

Likewise...I get asolutely nothing...you do however, have to re-edit the ini to make sure the funky characters aren't in there...it won't work as is I don't think...

Ok i've tried extracting those files to the UT2004/system folder...nothing.
Then i tried keeping them in the path it sets them to (C:\UT2004\DruidsPlayerAgreement). Still didnt work.

Use ServerActors=DruidsPlayerAgreement.PlayerAgreement ServerActor
legacy-tarkus
12-26-2004, 06:45 PM
Also, open the PlayerAgreement.ini file using WordPad, then save the ini file in text format. That will eliminate the 'special characters' in the file. You can do this for the readme.txt file also.

Will try when I am finished from work, thanks :)
On quick question tho, is the agreement coming before or after downloading mutator ?
legacy-Gomjaba
12-26-2004, 10:45 PM
Still no luck.
But it seems that the reason is UT2Vote ..
Any ideas where to put that in UT2Vote.ini ?

Here is the DruidsPlayersAgreement.int file that was not supplied in the zip package. You can change the captions that are displayed on the agreement page, except for the MyYesButton.Caption. I don't know why that caption cannot be changed....
I don't use UTVote, so I can't help you there....sorry
[PlayerAgreementPage]
MyNoButton.Caption="I do not agree."
MyYesButton.Caption="I agree!"
sbAgreement.Caption="Player Agreement"
sbButtons.Caption="Choose your destiny"

I have UT2Vote 4.8 and it works fine, the trick is the way you format the message;
Welcome to the kAoS server|This server is protected by AntiTCC|This Server is intergrated into the UTAN system|etc....
So long as you have the "|" were ever you want the next paragraph to stop and the next one to start it will work fine. Don't hit enter, just make the message one long line just put the "| " werever you need a new paragraph.
=]
Put this into your *ini
ServerActors=DruidsPlayerAgreement.PlayerAgreement ServerActor
And this as well:
ServerPackages=DruidsPlayerAgreement
And it will all work fine, it comes up after everything d/l's just before you spawn into the game.
If it does not work, then the problem is in your message format.
Ps: Can someone post the relevent code I need to make my damm sig show up.. lol

Just got in contact with the creator of this Server Actor:
Original by TheDruidXpawX - Part one
in the UT2004.ini file in the [Engine.GameEngine] section you have to add
ServerActors=DruidsPlayerAgreement.PlayerAgreement ServerActor
ServerPackages=DruidsPlayerAgreement
Then in the System/PlayerAgreement.ini file should look something like this:
[DruidsPlayerAgreement.PlayerAgreementManager]
Agreement=Some rules you want|and some others on another line.
TimeStamp=11-23-2004
Timeout=300
YesButtonEnableTime=25
This was copied directly from the configuration on my server...
Original by TheDruidXpawX - Part two
It's a server actor so it's not a mutator, so it doesn't have a .int or .ucl file.
- roll your PlayerAgreement.ini up and smoke it.
- With the text editor of your choosing, cut and paste the text about what should be in the INI from the previous post
- just for sanity's sake, make sure that the UT2004.ini contains the right stuff
- Start your server and watch the console.
You should see in the colsole ScriptLog: PAM: Using Druids Player Agreement
- When someone joins the server, you should see this in the console:
ScriptLog: PAM: Requesting PlayerAgreement from: Some_Player_Name:Some_Global_Id
Could not test it myself, as I am at work right know, but maybe it helps ....
