Go to actors tab thengo to info then go to fluidsurfaceinfo and you lay that over the top of your water volume and you can texture it and everything.

way to much water for that, but i just need to put something on top of the water volume?

place a BSP or SM sheet over the water, with a water texture, just remember to disable colisions. :) , check Island Hop, the water is several SM sheets, or the frozen river in Dria.

Hey thanks guys, and just so people dont say, make the FluidSurfaceInfo bigger... You try to make a 12288x12288  block of FSI and see how your computer feels after that...

hi,

u can make the triangels (polygons) in the fluidsurface info bigger, so it doesn't load that much.

Check for this:
- Select fluidsurface info
- Click on the tab fluidsurface info
- Look for this action: FluidGridSpacing
- Make it bigger, and the triangels (polygons) get bigger
- starting size is 24, that's detailed. for really big waters make it like: 240 (or even bigger).

Hope u can do something with this...

yep, thats the ticket, there is a max size in triangles for the water, but i don't recall what it is, increasing triangle spacing makes a much bigger water, but also reduces water resolution, as long as you dont leave all the wave height defaults, a new spacing can be processor saving, and still look decent.

There is a decent water tutorial in my sig that shows different settigns, and different ways of doing thigs with water volumes and fluid surface infos.

well the water is all accessable, and i dont need the triangels that big... And the flat water looks ok:p
