I've been following a tutorial on leveldesigner.com, and I followed it up until the export process. I have to put 'unEditor mesh setoilwell' in the command line, and it says cannot find procedure unEditor. I have the plug-in loaded, and Unreal Editor open.
And also, with the plug-in, shouldn't I be able to use Export All and export to a .ut(whatever the static mesh file extension is)? I can only export to a .mp...
:bulb: thanks

actorX or the 2k4 PLE plugin?
BTW, you have to export the mesh to unrealEd, only there can u save it to a .usx package.

The Leveldesigner Tut has instructions for Export and UT2k3. Though UT2k4 is not much different, Exporting from Maya and the new Plugin is quite different. If you are using Maya 5 PLE and UT2k4, read the directions for the Plugin setup in Maya's Help section.

Well I went into Maya and I tried the UT2004 Export option and nothing happened. Then I went into their help an didn't find anything...

using the PLE plugin, make sure you have the geometry and root of the bone structure (if there is one) selected, aslo make sure to have a character set selecte as well. Then press link to bring up unrealEd, and press export whatever kindof mesh you want, then in UnrealEd open the browser for the SM or Skeletal mesh u just exported and open it's package. The mesh sould be there, and you can save it buy saving the package.
But if u cant open the exporter, make sure u installed it correctly, there should be 4 new icons on the shelf if you did.

hmmm.. I have unreal editor open, I click UT2004 Export, and Maya just minimzes. Nothing is changed in the editor. And there aren't 4 extra buttons on the shelf either... I guess I installed it incorrectly? :o
EDIT: I just found some guy saying that he is having trouble exporting too. He said that like ut2003, you can use the command line to export. but instead of 'unEditor mesh name', you use 'UnrealEd mesh name'. I tried it, and it didn't give an error like unEditor did, but it did say "This command requires at least one flag"...

In Windows Explorer go here: C:\Documents and Settings\[current User]\My Documents\maya\5.0PLE\docs\UT2004 Help and doubleclick on Index.html .
***note*** : "[current User]" in above link is the User you have logged into Windows as.
