View Full Version : Marcus Fenix's VA

I noticed that in some of the earlier demos and videos Marcus Fenix was voiced by Steve Blum of Cowboy Bebop (Spike Spiegel) and Final Fantasy: Advent Children (Vincent Valentine). However, in the latest demo (E3 '06) there seems to be a new VA. His voice seems alot deeper and more grizzled. My question is,"Who is this new VA, and will he be the final voice actor for the character?"
Dont get me wrong, I dont look at this as a bad thing, I just would like some more info as to why Epic chose to go with this new VA.

I' pretty sure that John Dimaggio (Bender on Futurama) is credited with Marcus' VA. I can't remember if I'vs seen anything official, but i read it a while ago.
It is indeed John DiMaggio.

I wanna hear Fenix say "Bite my shiny metal-plated ass, you Locusts!" or "Would you kindly shut your Locust-hole?" or "I'm Marcus, baby, please insert beer!"

you want alot of things dont you.
Is John DiMaggio's voice lie that of Bender's or is that just an act?
What else has he been in?
Oh you'd be surprised :)
He was general Grievous in Star Wars Clone Wars, He's in Kim Possible, (Dr. Drakken and Motor Ed), he does a voice in the Teen Titans and he's acted in non animated movies and TV shows as well. He's done quite a view Video game voices; such as Rhino in Vampire: The Masquerade And Wakka in Final Fantasy X.
Check him out at IMDB.com (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0224007/) for a list of accomplishments. Wow.

OK I was just curious as to who this new guy was. Any ideas why they got rid of Blum? His voice really seemd to fit the character.

Good choice, as cool as Blum's voice is, it didn't really seem to match or capture Fenix' persona like Di Maggio's does.
