Hey guys. Didnt get to the player modeling VTM yet, so this would be something I could only dream about for now.
Anyway, even though the characters, except Carl, would be pretty basic to make, I think it would be cool to have a map pack with these guys in it. Namely, Master Shake (yeah, I know he would look goofy carrying around a weapon, but, hey, its Shake!), Meatwad, Frylock and , of course, Carl.
Having these guys running around with custom sounds would be a riot. And there is already sound packs for Meatwad and Shake.
What do ya think?

I think someone already made those, and i think someone made Carl too. There is a voice pack made for the hunger force, so maybe all of the characters were made. All that ive seen was Master Shake and Carl. Shake was done but carl was only shown while being made in Maya or something.

Thanx, Fox. I knew about the voice packs (very cool), but certainly didnt about the Shake and Carl meshes. I just hope that the Carl mesh is reaedy soon. It would be friggin great! LOL.

Funny you should mention that, I've been trying to get my mooninites models from Maya into Quake 2 for the last, like, 3 months. Unfortunately the tool chain for Q2 is miserable at best, so it's been slow going.
Also unfortunately, I used the "real" version of Maya (not PLE) to build the models, and I don't know whether PLE will read it. The UT 2k4 exporter seems to not like "real" Maya 5.0 very well, which I guess isn't too surprising, since probably few casual gamer types spend $1500 on a modeling package. ;)
Anyway, it took me about an hour to build the model, and they're (obviously) fairly easy to animate. I got particular pleasure out of the flipoff taunt. "I hope he can see this, because I'm doing it as hard as I possibly can!"
I'll drop a post if I get something going.
Speaking of which, to foxmccloud... I loved the old combatfox model in q2. Lemme know if you have anything similar for 2k4 ;-D
