All right, did a format and fresh install of UT2004...All patches installed as well...Problem is that when I'm in the editor and try to move a cube, or anything else, for that matter, I can no longer hold the CTRL button and "freely" move it around, in any viewport...It wants to move in increments, or units, if you will...N'er had it happen before until now...I'm not the perfect mapper so some of my stuff needs to be moved a bit or I'll use the Vertex tool...But same thing happens when I use that as well, I can click the vertice, but when I press and hold the CTRL button, it still moves the vertice in either 1, 2, 4, 8, etc "units or increments", depending on what grid size I use (1, 2, 4, 8, etc...) not freely moveable as before...Was wondering if there was something somewhere I could change as to get this back again if possible...Much thx in advance...

I don't think you could ever move the builder brush or BSP freely. For as long as I have used the editor it moves according to the grid. That is what the grid is for. For efficient moving.

Hi,
in the bottem of the screen there is a box called 'grid size' (it's dropdown)
Next to that box is a button 'toggle to grid' (something like that)
Press it and you can move it 'freely' :D
@ treestuffer
I'm sure you can. I USE IT :P
And please let me know if it works. If not, I will make a screenshot.

the above will work but I strongly recommend you don't do this...things that are not aligned properly will cause you problems and it'll be far more tough to align things...when working on a map that has tens or hundreds of brushes it'll be a pain to make sure they're all aligned properly and hole free...

almost everyone here will recomend (i presume) building on a grid size of 16 for bsp and only droping down if needs must except for static meshes i dont think it matters with them as they cant cause bsp errors and the like
i laughed when i first read the post :D

Ya that worked...Much thx Metal Militia...A simple click of the mouse...The main reason I needed it was because some of the smeshes I was trying to add were being placed where I could not line them up accordingly...This allows me to move them minutely, and allows me to line them 'gainst a wall or wherever they were being placed...For other stuff, such as builder brush and whatnot, the grid toggling helps...It was just that I needed this because of the odd placements of the smeshes when I was adding them...Once again, much thx...

for those meshes that don't align to the grid properly...hit the "show large verticies" button (it's to the right of that eye) then select the mesh and right click a vertex...this should snap that vertex onto the grid...
