Whenever i run a server and somebody tries to join they just get a black screen. At first i thought that it was just the ports so i opened them, then i thought that my enabled ports still didn't work and there was something wrong with my router. So i took the router off and it still doesn't work. By the way if this helps my internet provider is Cogeco Cable and my router is a D-link

thx in advance i really need help on this

Go to Network Connections and see if your Local Area Connection is firewalled. Causes problems for some (not for me, though...)

you can sort by servername..so just call it something without special characters at front because they sort separate...tell them the servername and gametype..they should be able to find it...depending on what you are running, they may need to uncheck the standard servers filter to see it..

as a sidenote..both of these would likely get better response if posted in the admin forum..

FYI I tried joining through the buddy list, the server displayed but when I joined the server IP address displayed in white and never connected. Thus I told him it was likely a router problem.
