Mirrors welcome.

Most of the loading screen packs I've seen so far have featured the high-res character art published in the UT2004 fansite kit prominently. That's nice for a few screens, but gets boring after a while. I wanted to do something different, so I've made a set that features map and in-game character shots. I hope you enjoy this set.

Try back later and the download link should work. If anyone wants to mirror this, feel free.

Thanks for all of the compliments, guys. :)

Edit: I've uploaded the pack to UT200Xhq. Here's the temporary link:

I'll update the first post as soon as I see that it has a permanent link there.

You got me wondering why I'm not using Yahoo! Briefcase for hosting some of my files. However, I realized that the speeds I got were less than 1k/sec. :o

Thanks for the alternate link. I have gotten tired of my old (default) loading screens.

@Element--- That briefcase is a holdover from my Yahoo DSL account. They normally only allow public file sharing for paying customers, but you can always email someone a link to your file with a free account. But, even if you have a pay account, download speeds suck if there's a lot of leechers. I used to have 500 mb or so of mp3s there, so that wad almost always a problem :(.

This may have changed though with the new changes brought on in response to Gmail (100mb mail accounts, for example).

My only complaint: The blur with low detail settings(I'm guessing DXT3?)

jefe

I used DXT3. Is there a better compression for low detail?

Kyllian

I have no clue.
DXT1 is a lesser compression, but I'd like to know how Epic did the compression for their loading screens(full detail even with my settings)

Even tho they're blurred for me, they're still a welcome change to the normal ones :D

I took a look at the official epic screens and they are indeed dxt1. I'll check into making a repack and how the file size and quality are affected.

Now here's a preview image for my second pack. This time, I'm taking shots specifically for the set. This first one is of the awesome Taliah (http://skincity.beyondunreal.com/sections/show_skin.php?id=1780) skin. I'll probably change the logo a bit before I finalize the pack but this will represent what you can look forward to. What do you guys think?

I figured out how to fix this in Unreal ED. It's not dependent on texture compression, by the way.

Change it to LODset interface, and it will work perfectly under the low texture detail setting. I'll update my first set in my briefcase momentarily.
