So I got an Audigy Platinum 2, and a Asus a7n8x. And in windows, my sound is absolutely fine. But when I get into games like UT2004 every 30 seconds or so I hear an annoying glitch, just a quick high pitched squeak. I looked at Creative's website, and of course, its no use. So anybody have any idea what the problem is? I'm assuming its the way my mobo communicates with my sound card. Both drivers are up to date, so I don't know where else to look to fix it. If anyone has any help I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

does your mobo use a VIA chipset? what soundcard did you have before the audigy?

i presume you checked for IRQ conflicts...

no, its the nforce 2 chipset. and this is the only sound card i've ever used with this mobo. And I've already checked the IRQ conflicts.. haven't found any.

yeah had this problem before too..

Try changing the slot the card is in. Try every one, for some people only one works. For me it was the second from bottom that worked.

uninstall/reinstall latest drivers..

yeah

I remember reading on the Asus Q&A about the A7N8X, not sure which model, having a problem with Audigy, don't remember which ones, because of the game port not being Plug & Play. The solution was to disable the Audigy Game port and use the motherboards onboard Game port. You should check out Asus's web site and see if your hardware combo is mentioned.
