DM-Amped

My second mapping try...Gael inspired but larger and with a bigger selection of weapons.

Could you do somethink about the mid's lightning, it's very bright and with my brightness I can make a moving combo's at it from some places at the top level. If some of you wonder which brightness I use, I allmost totaly copied everythink from killu's user.ini, which you can download from my clans site: http://cf.fof-clan.com/

Another think is that the map might be a little obvieus since you don't have much options on going a level higher. Now you respawn at low or midhigh. Imagen you've got just killed by you enemy and you respawn low. He's got a sniper or shock. Now you've got about 0 % chance of living this out. He will just shoot at you long range and spam you if you wanna go a level higher.
I think some of you will remember dm-fragtal from ut99. That map had the shock low and rockets high. I think that would be the kinda balanced you need at this map too. Sucky about that map and this map is the spam easyness. It's always nice if you can trick your enemy by going a way they don't expect and you kinda miss points in your map where you can do that.

Conclusion: Change the lightning, weapon placement and maybe add some jumpads/lifts.

hey digi just noticed the thread i like the map a lot :D

i agree about the jumppads on the lower floor like GinZzA said but maybe have them on boxes so you still have to jump to get to them also if that bridge where the wild card is was a bit wider youd be able to double dodge onto the middle level just infront of the lift maybe some peeps can do it but i just keep missing it by what feels like millimeters :(

but i also noticed it says final in the thread name so nevermind lol:up:

I`m always willing to entertain improvements, that`s why it`s got the 1.0 on it lol As for the bridge, yah you`re right...I found that out late last night...I can hit the dodge maybe 3 times outta 10...it needs to be a little wider. That I`ll fix. And I`ll also work out a few different arrangements with the shock on the bottom level.

Any suggestions on light coloring or just that it`s too bright?

heya digi! haven't played your map yet, but it looks good! I'd be willing to put that map up on my server.. what do you think?

It looks like alot of fun... and you know how much fun Gael is on my server...

That would be cool TechnoMage....Sounds like some good exposure. Just make sure u have the updated dm-amped_v1.1 file instead of the original. And btw, I always have fun on your server...keep up the good work!:up:

Great! I upped your map to the redirect, so as soon as the redirect is updated with your map I'll add it to the map list. I'm looking forward to playing it RPG style! ;)

You put a dot (.) in the name of the map: DM-Amped_v1.1
Now ut2k4 can't read the map like that. You need to remove the dot to be able to play it, so name it: DM-Amped_v11 for exampe.

For the rest there is only one think I can saw: jow well done. I first thought the new jump paths would suck, but they are lovely and really open up the map. The shock is totaly at it's place there. I just walked over the map only making 1337 combo's with the jump path.

It's not like this is going to be a map for serieus gaming, but it's now perfect for laid back online gaming on publics. You can release if u change the name imo.

v11 is up on Arcade (link in sig)...we played first version and loved it...i played v11 myself and think it is better than first..so should be a fun time...
