Most things are undesided at the moment because we are desiding which direction this mod will go.

1. Singleplayer experience

I would love to hear your opinions about it. I don't want to work hard and see that no one enjoys the multiplayer.

Sounds great! I've been a fan of Megaman for most all of my life. If you need help with concepts or ideas, I can probably provide a lot of that, considering I own all the Megaman games. (Except that blasted Megaman X3)

I could also help with web design if necessary.

You should make the buster smaller, hard to shoot enemies when half your screen has an arm and a gun in the way.

Fooruman - Whenever the design document is released, I'm going to get back to you. If you can come up with a megaman styled site that looks like it came right out of the game, that would be great.

Code-Killer - ya, I agree. I scaled it down and lowerd it some. I'm still try to get the perfect angle so it looks great and easy to use.

First of all, I'd like to give you a pat on the back for starting this, and wish you all the best for this mod which has much potential.

That buster and arm takes up too much space!!

Rockman doesn't always hold his buster when he shoots, so here's a little suggestion:

- Primary Fire: rapidly tap to fire short bursts of fire. Rate of fire depends on how fast you tap the fire key (but of course you should limit the fire rate :p ). Hold to charge a shot. And when you fire the charged shot, the recoil kicks back the buster, a la secondary shock fire. :cool:
- Secondary Fire: Rockman supports his buster with his arm and fires quick, accurate bursts, almost like a minigun. 'Cept his arm doesn't spin :confused:

For holding the buster, I don't think Rockman holds his supporting arm horizontally. An upward tilt of his supporting arm looks better and doesn't constrict view so much. I've read the manga before and the way he supports his buster in the pictures is pretty realistic.

(though I haven't read it in a long time. I hope my memory serves me well. :sour: )

I'd really like a rockman (megaman) X model for UT2004. Don't know about a full mod, I don't think many ppl know and love rockman.

I really like rockman (perticularly the X and zero series, which have a more serious setting). So I'm all for the mod, and I'll definately play it if its a good mod that captures the megaman feel.

Badass idea!!

A few suggestions.

Dont bother with actual game chars, maybee even not the name to avoid them bothering you about it (MegArena, Mega Unreal), you can still make it just like mega man though ;) Make a bunch of male and female megamanish chars with some tight colors etc (colored blasts).

If you do SP/Coop make it side scrolling, easier and will make it more like the oldschool ones, there is a sidescrolling mod for ut2k3, think Duke Nukem Manhatten Project with some cool megamanish bots to kill.

Make the MP FPS ofcourse. Maybee make classes, and make a bunch of cool blaster variations (like a scout one and a heavy one?), maybee some with cool jumps/double jumps etc.

Thanks for the support and ideas. I apologize for not replying to 2 weeks or so, but I posted this right before I went out of town, so I didn't have time to check it.

I'm going to start small, and then slowly add things to it. So that way it is bound to be finished.

Each person will start of with a normal buster. What kind of buster depends on the character (not sure if I like this or not. Well the character selection. I just think I'll make class bodies and the player can customize em so they look like they are from megaman but not really megaman or any other character.) ie. X-buster can charge Z-buster sucks but you also get a z-sabre, b-buster (bass) is autofire...etc... In the level there will be stations that you walk in and you get a boss's power and that will effect you depending what buster you have. X-buster will be able to charge the special but b-buster will shoot alot..etc.. My only problem is the coding of this. I have ideas how to do it, but I don't know any code. I guess if no one wants to help I'll have to take a while to mess around with it.

If you're bored and can do one of these and want to help out, by all means do it and reply telling me.

1. Make a blaster shot projectille.
2. Come up with gametypes or elements that would add into the game and make it better.
3. Find some people that would be interested in working on the mod.

Schlave -- Ya, thats a good idea. I'll get cracking away at it soon. I just need to get all the information together and try and recruit a team.

Yeah thats a good idea man. Release in small bits and add more and more and more later. I really hate those mods that don't ever release even if it has been in developement for two or more years. And just test everything internally, better to let the public test it for you and give you feedback on how to improve your mod.

idea's:

add a 2d map
add some classic type enemy bots
add the character "zero"
add enigma
add random virus appearences
add battlechips
add switches and stuff u got to pull to get to other areas
there are already some megaman and bass type skins

looks great so far. Only suggestion I can make as of now is to have the buster smaller when in first person view.

Get rid of the arm supporting the buster. Megaman only does that when he's standing still.
