Tried a complicated animation that did not work at first. 3dMax would not initially perform the necessary SNAPSHOT of the various frames. It did capture all the frames, but all were in the initial reference pose. Adding an EDIT MESH modifier to the stack solved this matter and the SNAPSHOT worked fine.

The tutorial starts as though you have opened 3D Max for the first time, so anyone going to http://www.discreet.com and downloading the FREE 30 day trial of 3D Max would immediately be able to use these types of props in maps.

Glad I was able to figure this stuff out and pass it on, it sure was a brain-teaser to make work at first. I hope some of you can use this technique and I can see a map or two with these kind of props!

I thought everyone would hate a text tutorial and prefer the video, so I never bothered doing a text/html version. That is a good idea for the future.
