Description: A vehicle for the Unreal phase 3 submissions, my first car in Unreal, it was a pain, but I leard allot. I hear about the contest late and decided to team up for the texture art to make sure I had enough time to finish. Please download and play! Use it in your and mods too!

Very nice dude. The skin actually fits UT, unlike so many of the car skins. Just out of curiousity, how fast does it go? In relation to the other cars n stuff of course.

Pretty sweet. REALLY needs a better primary fire, I can just spam missiles all day at the rate they fire. I'd suggest letting a 2nd person get in, too. The skin and model are very nice, the handling's OK. I'd make it turn tighter. :)
Other people, to get it in-game, put on god mode and then type "summon dark3dcar.dark3dcar" without quotes.

Wow, a really stunning vehicle.
I like that pseudo futritic style and of course the real car, but it is an really fresh theme. Hope that the engine will sound also great!

Great looking car. I havent downloaded yet, but I'm sure what you have for the handling is just fine. You cant turn on a dime at 60 MPH.

Odd choice for an off- road vehicle, certainly. -1 point for immersion, +8746 points for style. You lose 10, however, for not providing a mutator that replaces vehicles with this bad boy. I can't even access it through AllVehicleArena, so testing it in combat will be a real pain in the butt. Keep goin', you da man (er-- y'all de men, I guess). :up:

It looks really nice from the screenshot, nearly fitting in with the original vehicles, but I'm also one of those who don't know how to use it in the game.
(Also, if I'd done the car, I'd added the weapons James Bond style...)
I hope an update with a replacement mutator (the Scorpion would have to go, I guess) will be added, and tweaked weapons (from what I gather from the above comments).

Apparently, fire appears above the vehicle when it’s critically damaged...
Also, textures seem blurry, but this could be just me. And I suggest replacing current primary fire with minigun.

Absolutely. Those are class files for if you wanted to tweak it yourself or look at what he used to make it.

You can also bind that to a key by adding summon dark3dcar.dark3dcar to you user.ini in the [Engine.Input] section. ;)
For example,

The car is nice, but the engine sound just seems too loud to me. Almost as loud as a tank blast. Other than that, great job. :up:

Very nice model. Very fun to cruse in :) :up:. Though, it's quite hard to use without stopping and becomming a sitting duck, at least for me :p. One problem that will probably keep it out of most maps is the car's hight. It is so low to the gound that it is quite easy to get it stuck somewhere.
UT3004 should have made it so players can push vehicals when they get hitched up :p. lol
As for the Hell Wagon, I tried several summon commands and i cant seem to get it to spawn... Sorry dude.

Nice car... its weaponry is imbalanced though... it would be a great car if you significantly slowed down the rate of fire on the rockets, as they are too easy to spam with now and kill nodes way too fast.... also it could really use its own custom destroyed mesh... then it would be just about perfect. Good work overall.

I noticed that too, but I was playing with UT2004RPG mut, so I though it might just be from the stat increases I've earned.
I also agree that the destroyed mesh really needs to be changed - this model uses the dead Hellbender mesh when it explodes. You really should model your own, or at least use the similarly sized scorpion.

I have the same trouble It work on some systems but not mine the command for mine is summon hellwagon.onshellwagon
it seem that umon messed something up so when i make my u file it only 43 kgs an should be larger :cry: or something ill work on it later its my 1st car the 2nd one will be my 8 wheeled atack station called The Null

That's my opinion :
-The car is too slow !
-You can use a better model for the weapon...
-The sounds of the car are in loop :(
-The primary fire is ok, but the secondary.... you can shoot lots of missiles in a few seconds!
Other thinks ar ok ;) great model!

Yeah, I need help with the sound. I have the sounds I want but need to script it in the class. I keep getting an error for some unknown reason.
Yes, the secondary is to fast. I need to slow it down!

Just about all released custom vehicles come with a replacer mutator. If you don't know how to code, I'd recommend simply decompiling one of those in UEd and doing a copy/ paste job on it.
Make sure you get permission, obviously, but it shouldn't be hard to find somebody who doesn't mind. :)

This mute, being a seperate file can be kept for later releases of the Car as well, as long as you keep the package names the same.

I agree with the rest.
It's a superb model. The best I have seen so far.
Only things need to be tweaked:
*Secondary fire needs to be slower
*Needs new death mesh
*Engine sounds needs to change
*Speed needs to be a little faster
For the rest the model is ****ing awsome! I have no words for it m8 :)

Works fine for me as well. Also I agree with the four main suggestions that have been made so far. But finally someone else who knows how to make good looking vehicles with great texturing. Only other teams I've seen make impressive vehicles is the AirPower/Advanced Armor developers and the Oblivion Tanks creators. I think STG modeled the Hellwagon well but it's even lighter than the Diablo and it too suffers from having overkill firepower. Anyway I love these two cars and hope that they get tweaked and also that more people make Unreal ONS/VCTF modified Sports Exoticas, Euro Luxo cars, and wouldn't SUVs finally have a great home ... no one complains about gas consumption or the environment in the Unreal world.
A nice Hummer/H2 ONS vehicle or a big Caddy EXT ... imagine that.
I'd even welcome an Unreal Vette and Viper. So many possibilites for you talented modelers and texture experts. God I love this game!!! I bet I'm one of only a few true UT fans who aren't even going to look at Doom3 or HL2 (well I might play them at my friends houses but they won't be on my HD ... all that space is resevered for UT2K3/K4/K6 etc....). Peace and developers please think seriously about an SUV for the game. I just know it would be well received.

Sorry I haven't updated this car, I have been working on other models and work so much at real work......I have been slowly fixing some of the most requested problems. Fixing the sound will be hard, I am still trying to fix that. The guns are working allot better. I will always post the newest updates on Dark3D.com and other models too.

I'm a guy who isn't easily impressed but I tell you, your car blows me away. I don't know what to say other than the car is TOTALLY AWESOME!!!!
I mean, the speed is perfect (comon now, this is road car gone off road, which is perfect for that type. Plus it is the 23rd century and this is an old 21st century junk heap that was rebuilt so the speeds are not all that top notch as well as the handeling but mainlly because its an on-road gone off-road car.)
The sounds aren't from that of a hellbender, which someone earlier said they were, they really don't sound bad and if you had my vote, I'd say they fit the car well and should stay as they are.
The only things I would suggest would be the weapons. For one, it's an older car (I mean since it's the 23rd century in UT) and a laser for a primary would seem a bit weird, mainlly because the model shows a chaingun for the weapon. You might want to add an animation or such for the chaingun and change it to a minigun firing or something so for one, it will look awesome and correct PLUS so far no other vehicle I have seen in UT has a chaingun (/minigun) for a primary fire which would rock!
The missiles. I think they rock but cause too much damage. As said earlier, you could easily spam and it would be cheap. I say reduce the damage and take off the autoaim for them (if that is possible).
And yes, the death mesh needs to not be a Hellbender, lol!
And last but not least, the car rocks but the model of the gun and the gun emplacement on it seems off and stands out too much on the car. If you were to fix that up and and the minigun animations and fit it with a minigun, change the missile to not auto aim and reduce damage, change the death model/mesh and then fix up the gun emplacement some (make it look more real and advanced), then I tell you now, that will become a VERY popular vehicle in UT because so far through my search I have found none as cool at it.
I am very glad you created it and I look foward to using it much in the future.

Yes, nice model but the vehicle is ridiculously overpowered because of altfire. It can own a tank in seconds. Without rockets it would be merely somewhat overpowered (the hitpoints), but balanced because it can't fire very high and aircraft can pound it with inpunity. Speed is fine mainly because faster vehicles are just harder to drive and something needs to be done with sounds. Horn sounds would be nice too.
The model itself would suggest that the weapon should be a chaingun, but I don't really care what it is as long as it isn't overpowered. Personally, I'd prefer to have a passenger fire the gun and the driver just drive, but I know that most people don't like it that way. Anyways, it'd be nice to have some use for that passenger seat.

Anyways I agree on the sucking engine sound. This car NEEDS a new sound. And a new fire rate for the minigun, and I think people would enjoy much more if the car would fit the 300 Km/h that this baby can reach in the real world. But it's still awesome work. Keep it up

Nice work. :) It takes a lot to get a vehicle from concept all the way to the finishing point with model and skin.
Handling, steering, etc. are great! Mad Max all the way!
I actually /like/ the slow pri. fire, since it doesn't make the vehicle dominate the battlefield. The sec. fire is all-powerful, though: you can knock out a node in no-time.
If you felt like tweaking anything, I'd suggest:
Pri fire: Let it fire in "bursts" with a power meter. So, players can store up and unleash a mini-flurry, but not just constantly pound a target forever.
Sec. fire: Instead of the missile, why not small magnetic road mines (only attracted to vehicles) that drop behind it? That way, you could cover a getaway, or give advancing tanks a headache.
