As far as I know i'm the only one who has remade this map... there was 2 alphas 1 beta and now the 2k4 version... If there is another deck32 out there i'd love to see it... btw every version I made is noticably different. The Alphas don't work i believe.. missing files, you'd have to use UED to play em, but thats why there were alphas i guess.

I could have named it DM-WTFDeckisThis.ut2 or DM-Biggerthanlife... The point is this is not your average Deck... Its not anywhere close to the size of your average deck. This is a Giant Map. It does have some familiar characteristics of the Decks, however, I just wanted to play Deck32 on 2004 like I used to in UT99.... I made it, I played it, I shared it. I don't know what he's complaining about. He's a Deck whore, always camping in the sniper spot. Really ****ing annoying. And furthermore just yesterday he gave me an idea for another Deck map (prolly 'cause of seeing this thread), which I now plan to steal and make to piss him off.

I think some people here a being a bit harsh.
If you don't like Deck maps, then DON'T ****ING PLAY THEM. In fact, don't even come into the threads. You don't like them? Then do we really need to hear your POV?

Personally I enjoy the Deck maps. Especially 'cause it's a well designed map with great flow, and when you keep getting remakes you can play the same map, with more eyecandy, which is always nice. Beats playing the same map over and over.

Yes we do, because otherwise it becomes an ass-kissing love-fest, and it would make people sick. I don't know how much "OMG I LOVE THIS" 50 times in a row I could stand.

I agree with that, but still, if you are biased against them from the start then there's no point. You know you're not going to like it before you click on the thread, so why do you bother?
You can still get negative feedback from Deck fans.
For instance:
In this particular map I find the colour scheme a bit ugly. It's over the top. There's lights of green, purple, blue and red. A bit much yeh? Also the geometry is a bit basic and the meshes are a bit standard.
I think the map could be improved one colour scheme over the whole map, maybe two colours. My pick would most probably be primarily blue. And because of the size I would probably recommend more detail, and maybe one or two platforms you can stand on in the lower (slime) room.

If I remember correctly there are no remakes of DM-Deck32.unr* .

If you really think that this is a remake of DM-Deck16/16][/17 you should first check this map and then find out that this is a remake of DM-Deck32 which is something [almost] completly different from 16/17.

But I think that is too much for people who probably don't even know DM-Deck32.


But wait... ...first we cry, whine and *****... ...then we find out that we are talking about something completely different.


*) There was a remake for UT2003, but that was a different Deck32 (for UT and UT2003) than this remake, which refers to a different Deck32 layout. Both maps had the same name though. ANd yes, I played and know them all...

Uhm... This DM-Deck32 itself seems to be a remake of DM-Deck16.
I myself like remakes of the map :D

Deck32 was a UT99 map, completely different to Deck16/17 in terms of layout, it just stole a few visual elements.

I'm with fuegerstef, please, do check out the map before you moan about another deck remake.
Critisise it on it's own terms, find stuff you do/don't like about this map, not simply the fact it's got the letters D, E, C, and K in the title.

The original Deck32 was made by MattyD for Unreal. Dr.Doom and I revamped the map, replacing Unreal weapons with UT ones for the UT version, and then adding a few easter eggs, where it gained some popularity, particularly on some dedicated Deck servers (which used a few other remakes like Deck17 for example).

BTW I tried downloading this file and the file ended up corrupt. Is there an updated link to this? I'd like to test it out. :)
