How will weapons be in multiplayer?

Will it be like halo, with a starting weapon, and then weapons scattered accross map. Or will it be like you choose a "class" of weapons, like either close combat (shotgun and pistol) or like assault (assualt rifle and pistol) or something like that. Just curious.

u start with certain weapons and then u can pick up others in the map, very much like halo, but i think in gears u start with multiple weapons (lancer, shotgun, pistol...not sure) and then u can pick up the sniper or rocketlauncher if u find it, btw u can also use the Locust weapons and vise versa

I miss the assault rifle from halo 1... The br is a cheap excuse for a main weapon... I think the weapons you start with are fully customizable

Well your not going to miss it for long, as it looks like its coming back in Halo 3. What is an br? Cant figure it out.

How is it a cheap excuse for a main weapon? It's definitely a solid and worthy mid-range weapon, and in competitive play for shooters, winning is usually all about distance in deathmatches.

i agree the lancer is one of the best weapons used in a 360 game so far, i mean come on a chainsaw bayonet !!!

i am sorta hoping that it would b somthing like Counter Strike Source for the PC because you have a good assortment of weapons set into subcategories. i might like it wehre u have to buy a weapon and you get some money for killing an enemy or a bonus for a chainsaw, or wutever **** they wanna have. or you could have no money and just choose what weapons. i also think that in multiplayer u should have a main weapon and a pistol, and a flashbang/smoke/nade, or w/e u want(sorta like CS:S)

i see ur new to the forum, well u have some catching up to do(GoW wise):D

main weapon=lancer
they do have a pistol, its called the snub pistol
they do have flashbang, smole and frag grenades
their are many other weapons like the shotgun, torquebow, sniper, boomshot...and some others that are probably not going to be released until the game is out, cliffy said that their are a couple more weapons some are even "unique" aka freakin cool!

well i think one of the will be the "torquebow" and maybe the other will be "the hammer of dawn" but their are still a couple ticks of cliffy's sleeve, well i hope!

from what i heard youre only got get 4 weapons wich is pistol rifle shotgun and grenade wich i think is brilliant cuz otherwize ppl will camp by sniper spawn or something wich will ruin the game

there is a lot more weapons in the game

Those weapons are generally the starting weapons, in the entire game there are about 12 weapons

actually u can only hold 4 weapons, 2 are always nades and the pistol but the other two vary, there are about 10-15 weapons in the game
