I'd had no trouble with voice chat with my cheapie 5.1 16bit card and now with this Audigy2 ZS I can't hear other players on line.

Has this been an issue or is it just me?

I have an Audigy 2 ZS gamer edition and well.

My UT2004 runs just fine when I have the audio in safe mode but when I try to use HW + EAX or whatever the game crashes after a small amount of playtime.

I can play the game in "Holy ****" settings with safe mode audio but even if I set everything to lowest if I run it in EAX audio it crashes.

My machine-----------------------------------------
P4@2ghz
lots of hard drive space
1024 mb of crucial DDR400
Radeon 9800 pro (256 mb)
Audigy 2 ZS gamer edition

I think that's all that really matters to this problem. Both my video and audio cards have all the latest updates. This crash is entirely related to the audio in my game.

I would really like to be able to run the game with EAX as my card supports it but it causes UT2004 to crash. Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. --Lutzy

edit: Oh and the game doesn't just crash to desktop. The screen goes black and then I get a forced shut down.

^Copied from another thread I posted earlier.

If you can't hear VoIP it's probably just something misconfigured.

I have a question for you though... Can you play the game with the audio settings all the way turned up without the game crashing? (Hw + 3D EAX or whatever)

Cause as you can see it crashes my game. :(

bhawkh60: This is an issue with the game. I myself have an Audigy 2 and have the same problem. Whenever I use voice chat on other games there is no problem with voice chat, so I'm assuming this must be a UT2004 problem.

Lutzy@[RKS]: Which drivers do you have? As I've seen people on this forum calling the November 2003 drivers the latest ones. There was a driverset released at the end of March. I had the exact same problem as you (except a blue screen) and the new drivers fixed this.

EDIT: March, not April.

I just used the auto-update feature on creative's website last night.

Well, I did get the BSoD last night after all. Auto update shows I'm fine but my drivers were dated from september last year so here's a link to the avail files for Audigy 2 ZS Gamer edition under win XP:

Auto-update seems to have a problem with my computer so I just download the drivers manually.
