Heres my Full Idea: (TDM or ONS)

The matrix mod would consist of one map, which would contain the Zion Dock (at the bottom), and the Surface (at the top of course), and an array of tunnels arround them that extends as far as the Unreal Ed can make them.

One team would start in Zion, the other on the surface. There would be four hovership (2 per team): The Hammer, Nebuchadnezzar, Logos, and the Vigilant. The players would get inside the ship and go through the tunnels trying to blow up the other teams ship. Each ship would have a driver's seat (with an EMP) and multiple gun turret seats.

The EMP would destroy all ships (15,000 damage) within a large radius, and destroy the ship of the person who has it, and would require a charge-up (similar to deployment of Leviathan) before it could be activated. The charge time would depend on the EMP Range.

Hammer: (Heavy Cruiser Class)
Low Speed
5 Turrets
1 Howitzer Artillery Turret

28 HoverPads
10,000 HP

Logos: (Light Cruiser Class)
High Speed
2 Turrets
Low EMP Range
28 HoverPads
2,500 HP

Vigilant: (Medium Cruiser Class)
Medium Speed
4 Turrets
Medium EMP Range
20 HoverPads
5,000 HP

Osiris: (Super-Heavy Cruiser Class)
Very Low Speed
8 Turrets
2 Howitzer Artillery Turrets
No EMP
34 Hoverpads
25,000 HP

NOTE: Low Speed = Speed of Manta

It would only be fun if the tunnels were very extensive, to the point where you couldn't memorize it (if possible). And with small mechanical tunnels (like in Matrix: Rev) that is a shortcut but hard to fly through. Also there would be diffrent version of the map (possibly) that could have diffrent tunnels but still having zion and the surface.

The ship controls would need to be made so it can "fly" in any direction. But still be realistic.

Do you have any idea how long it would take to make a network of tunnels like the one you're talking about!!?? If someone had the time to do it they probably would and it would probably be awesome but this is a big project you're thinking about, people just don't want to put in the effort.

How long has your obsesion with the matrix been going on??

Ever since I bought The Matrix: Revolutions on DVD,

Anyways about the tunnels, it doesn't have to be very detailed, I mean its gonna be extremely dark (lit up by lights on the ship)
So it wouldn't have to be extremely deailed but it would need good textures and some features that would appear to make it 3D. Yet I don't know if sophisticated textures could give it a 3D look.

the map would be easy, you'd hbave a bunch of different 'tunnel section' static meshes and you'd sloyt them together to make the tunnels then add some fog. Do a tad of tweaking here and there for effect presto. It's peety tedious though.

Well the hoverships would be the main focus of the mod, They would have to look pretty realistic... Have same effects as seen in movie etc.

If I had more experience in Maya I would try making one myself but I don't have the time required to do such a thing.


Edit: Edited the Top Description.

And the Hovercraft piloting would be configured so you wouldn't really know which way is down, up etc. Since they're completly autonomos in 3D space so to say...

I know the basics but I'm not skilled enough to create 5 hoverships at the right scale and detail (even though I know that) and animate the hoverpads etc.

Considering they're made by humans who are 4 kilometers below the surface whos surface cities have been completely destroyed and global temperature decreased severely...

I'd say they did pretty good :O

actually on www.UT2003hq.com there is a UT03 mod call Monkey Matrix Moves with bullet-time, running on walls, doing weird flips, and everything. I think it works in UT04...

Not likely... Unreal Engine 2.0 doesn't support dynamic light actors natively. You can code your own, but they're a major performance drain and the shine through BSP and static meshes. There would definitely have to be static light sources in the tunnels.

personaly if i were to do a "outside the matrix" gametype it would be kinda liek a team invasion. were each team gets a ship or two and a base and every one is attacked by sentinals and various other bots. and the team with the most kills and such wins. yea you dont have the "kill your pals" fun that unreal provides but still would go more to the matrix realm. plus it'll give you the opertunity to use one of those killer mechs in matrix 3. :bulb:

u no there is a matrix moves mod oput there called the monkey matrix moves look it up on google i found it not to long ago and its cool all the powers of the matrix exept no melee u can even run on walls in slomo/bullet time

I would love a mod like that but more of the movie than just 2 vs 2 Hoverships.

Where one team is machines and other team is humans, and Humans can get into APU and kill other team while machines try to kill a limited amount of reinforcements Humans and destroy certain checkpoints.

That can be good.

It would be a defensive mod where humans must stop those squiddys. With APU's and hovercrafts.

That has Apoc's Matrix Moves and Monkey Matrix Moves.

Apocs has:
-wall running (dodge into a wall)
- crouch hover (jump and hit crouch, you can hover for a few seconds there)
- rolls instead of dodges, including view roll

Monkey has:
-everything Apoc's has
-bullet time, with bullet trails

who told you that? dynamic lights are everywhere, that's why they have a checkbox in the settings menu.

OK I love the Matrix ever since I got the only good one "the First" on DVD and second all have you seen the frst one or are you just obsessing over the 2 bad one I mean they had like o story and all action if I wanted to think about nothing in a movie Id watch the Terminator But like the first I wanted to think about it and the only thing I could think about in the second was How damn long is this fight gonna be and in the Third is God damnt this chick has rebarb through her so hurry up and die so god damnt stop with the Matrix abuse and go outside and stop trying to encringe on my nerd dom
