Any mac people out there (all 5 of you) know how to install new custom maps? For instance, I found this great site (www.awservers.com) with some sick ONS maps but don't see where to install them. In the original UT on OS 9 there were of course the normal maps/mods/characters folders, but now all I see when I search my machine for "unreal" is the application.
What gives?
I can connect to servers running these maps and it will download them but, man, what a drag, I'd rather just install them myself.
Any help greatly appreciated from anyone.
thanks,

you need to download the file. then ctrl-click on the Unreal Tournament icon in the Applications folder and left click on Show Package Contents. Then you can open the Maps folder and place the map in there. Good Luck!!

You can go to ~/Library/Application\ Support/Unreal\ Tournament\ 2004/ and add a Maps directory there for your new maps. You'll also notice that this is where UT2004 downloads its maps during 'internet' play. Open up the 'Cache' directory and read the cache.ini file in text edit or which ever text editor you prefer (more at the command prompt works good enough for me).
You'll see a list of cache files and their actual names. Match the corresponding cache files up in the Cache directory and change the name to the proper map and you'll be able to add it to your map, texture, sound, mesh, etc directories for use in single player mode.

I don't see an "unreal" folder under my application support... do I need to enable show hidden files or something?

You need to make sure that you are in your home directory. HD/Users/Folder with your name on it/Library/Application Support. It is created automatically by the installer.

Just out of curiosity because I haven't done it, if I connect to a game and have to download a map and texture, will the texture download into the cache as well?
And if so then should I create a "textures" folder (just as I created a maps folder in my "app support" folder) and rename the new texture to it's proper name so that I can play it in single player mode?

Now all I need is your mac so I can get better than 15fps ;)
I'm running a dual 500 g4 with one gig of pc100 and a ATI9000 (64mb). It plays the small boards well enough and the big ones semi-ok so long as there 6 people or less. I'm buying my friends dual 1.25 soon and look forward to some 32v32 ONS! And turning on textures to something other than "lowest" noob
Just like the NBA.. I STILL LOVE THIS GAME!!
