When I get UT2004 (hopefully in a few days when it comes out here) I'm going to start work on a remake of the Half-Life multiplayer map "Crossfire." It will have improved architecture, better flow, and a really cool skybox :)
So far I've been working on a few concept sketches and planning what custom scripts I'll need to make (I'll need a wall mounted health pack, cannons, and if ut2004 doesn't have pressurezones, I'll have to code them too- hence why I'm learning unrealscript)

Sound good? Any ideas?

Ah Crossfire, the airstrike map. That would be fun as invasion map also, I think. I doubt you'll need to follow the architecture slavishly as long as you convey the same idea. Maybe you can make the airstrike an actual airstrike where a bunch of those bombers appear and blow the whole place up. That would make it easier to live through though.

What I'm going to do is get a static mesh bomber plane, when you hit the button, air raid siren will sound, doors will start closing, etc. Plane flies over, you actually see it, unlike in crossfire, and then there's an explosion sound and a (this is what I was planning to do when I made this for original ut, don't know if it will work for 2k4) pressurezone is triggered, that kills everyone outside the bunker.
Also, there will be a little radar on the control system that shows the plane getting closer and closer.

sounds like a cool idea, i'd probably download it when its finished :)

oh, by the way, you can find a bomber static mesh in the ASDecos.usx (or something along the lines of that) package :)

might want to check how AS-Convoy did the airstrike too, that would work for your level
