View Full Version : ONS-Power Valley[Early Alpha Stage]

I'm working on a ONS map called Power Valley, some my remember my early reports on this in the Maps Mods section.
--I have a detailed plan laid out on paper, the only problem, as seems to be the case with many here is mapping skills. But unlike some I am learning right now, I mapped for Star Trek Eilte Force 2 but the Unreal editor is totally different than it posing a prob lol.
Found a good tut website so hopfully I can start mapping work soon. Also learning 3dsmax so I can use more static meshes to optimise the map more.
Anyway In the link below is a pic of one of the hangers made in the EF2 map editor, its all geometry as the way that game renders is different. Also included is a basic Idea of what it will look like, and no im not just some crappy graphics guy, just left alot out so u guy could see the finished product and be really wowed. More to come im sure :)

I like the layout alot is the blue part water if so is it deep?

Yes it is water, there will even be a water fall coming into the valley if Ic an figure out how to make one. Was to depth I'm not totally sure yet, I need to do some tests to see what happens to things like tanks and jeeps in deep water. If they, say blow up or stop functioning in deeper water, its going to have to resemble the depth of the pools they have in ONS-Dawn (you might remember those little sludge pools, well think of them only with water instead of sludge)
ANyway another possible option is to have a bridge connecting to the node at the center of the lake, acting as a Vehicle choke point of sorts, with dropping into water spelling death, either way though this map promises to be very interesting.
Oh and also as an update I'm planing on knocking off one node per side. They would end up being a little too close together I think. :D

Oh also this map won't have raptors, don't kill me for it, its just that at least at the moment the valley im planning will probably be alittle too tight for them to have a fair chance.
ANyway their will be the target painter so it won't be totally devoid of airships

You could at least put 2 mantas and scorpions in there.

I said raptors dude, all the other vehicles will be in it so don't worry :D
