OK so perhaps this isn't the most original idea, but bear with me here. Basically this is what I had in mind:
The Concept
This gametype uses ONS maps by replacing the cores with BR goals. Now basically it plays like ONS, you have to establish a link to the enemy base. The twist however is that in order to score you will need to shoot the ball (or carry it) into the goal. You can only score as long as a link is established.
The ball will spawn at the central node of each ONS map. It will be visible on the player's radar at all times, showing where it is and which team has it in their possession.
This essentially creates two objectives:
1. Form a link to the enemy base
2. Get the ball to the enemy goal whilst you are linked to their base.
Scoring is identical to that of the BR gametype, successful shots earn 3 points, carrying the ball into the goal earns 7 points. Once a goal is scored, everything (the nodes, the ball, the players) is reset and a new round is started.
A couple of things that should apply for a gametype like this are:
- Translocator off by default (optional).
- The Scorpion, Hellbender and Goliath can carry the ball.
- The Manta and Raptor can not carry the ball. If the ballcarrier attempts to get into either, the ball is dropped.
- Whether or not the Leviathan can carry the ball should be optional.
- Passing between vehicles is not possible, passing is only possible if you and the receiver are both on foot. The same applies with shooting and carrying the ball into goals, you can only do either when on foot.
- Shooting the ball into the enemy goal while there is no link established results in the ball being reset back to the center node.
End
I feel this would put a nice twist on the onslaught gameplay, and could make for some very frantic games. What do you guys think?
