I've looked at the mapping tutorials, and somehow I cannot make it happen here... I guess I'm like Khan in that Star Trek movie, my mind is two-dimensional... :weird:

anywho, here's my ONS map idea:

Huge underground cave with giant stalactites and stalagmites, some broken, some hollow.

Each powercore is at the top of a cliff, with no direct line of sight to the other team's.

The bottom floor of the cave should be covered in deadly hot lava.

Each team starts with enough Raptors for all players.

Powernodes are distributed in alcoves along the walls of the cave, or in some hollow stalactites or stalagmites.

The stalagmites / stalagtites should be spaced so that Raptor dogfights are fun and interesting.

It should be possible for a player to jump off the starting cliff and land on a small, hard-to-see platform at the bottom and survive the fall with the shield gun. From this platform the player could access a "secret" cave with goodies and a Manta.

Along the floor of the cave, there could be some places only accessible with the Mantas, and some one-way teleporters that lead to power nodes / cores.

The most powerful goodies like the redeemer should be placed so that they are tricky to get to, such as jumping off a high place and landing with the shieldgun, like inside a long narrow hole in the middle of a stalagmite.

There could also be some walkways along the walls of the cave, and some narrow suspension bridges to allow pedestrians to fight.

Some lava falls from the ceiling... some erupting volcanos...

That's the basic idea.

Sounds like a very interesting concept. How about having a huge rock pillar in the middle with the central power node on top. Have so that there's only space for one raptor. Otherwise it sounds like a very good idea.
