King of the Server (http://www.kingoftheserver.com) was a mod for Quake 2 and, IMO, the greatest mod ever conceived by man. It took Quake 2 and gave it MMORPG elements. I believe it was going to be made for UT 2003, but the project was dropped do to rl issues with the developers.
I could go on for a really long time explaining it, but I suggest you just check out the site (http://www.kingoftheserver.com) for yourselves. ;) The current system is actually Orbit, which is less fun the system I used to play on, but the concept is still there.
Words cannot express how grateful I would be to see this mod revived. It really makes me wish I had some sort of programming or artistic talent.
